Santangelo is the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JordanOnRecord\/status\/1511383125221572614?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1511383125221572614%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wusa9.com%2Farticle%2Fnews%2Flocal%2Fdc%2Fanti-abortion-activists-claim-they-took-115-fetuses-from-outside-a-dc-clinic-lauren-handy-progressive-anti-abortion-uprsing-surgi-clinic%2F65-bd49467d-939c-476b-b3c1-bf6120ec453e\">sole<\/a> abortionist practicing at Washington Surgi Clinic.<\/p>\n<p>Babies who are born alive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/107th-congress\/house-bill\/2175\">are\u00a0<\/a><span><u>protected<\/u><\/span> by law under the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.<\/p>\n<p>A partial-birth abortion is one in which a doctor performs an act that kills a partially delivered, living baby after he \u201cdeliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until, in the case of a head-first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the mother\u2019s body, or, in the case of a breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the mother\u2019s body,\u201d according to the 2003 law.<\/p>\n<p>The pro-life activists\u2019 concerns about partial-birth abortions taking place in the nation\u2019s capital are based on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/d-c-authorities-wont-autopsy-recovered-bodies-of-these-aborted-babies-police-are-hiding-barbaric-crimes-pro-lifers-say\">examinations of photographs of the baby bodies<\/a>, which pro-life activists say they intercepted at Washington Surgi Clinic in a box<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/eq-dc-area-waste-facility-swears-it-doesnt-incinerate-fetal-remains-amid-discovery-of-aborted-babies\"> labeled<\/a> for Curtis Bay Medical Waste Facility (the facility initially denied the pro-life activists\u2019 story and has not responded to further inquiries and evidence).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe moment we opened the large bucket and discovered the body of Christopher X, a beautiful 30+ week baby boy with hair on his head, we knew that he was most likely born alive,\u201d Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) member Terrisa Bukovinac told The Daily Wire on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Bukovinac is referring to a baby that PAAU named after they found his remains.\u00a0Live Action posted <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\/status\/1509997440962863106?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1509997440962863106%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Feditorial.dailywire.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D363993action%3Dedit\">photographs of this baby<\/a> on Twitter.\u00a0<strong>(Warning: Posts contain\u00a0graphic and\u00a0disturbing images.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve long known Santangelo is too cheap to use feticide and the chances of a baby this advanced in gestational age being delivered whole without the use of feticide is extremely high,\u201d Bukovinac said.<\/p>\n<p>Washington Surgi Clinic has repeatedly refused to discuss the babies with The Daily Wire. The clinic finally referred The Daily Wire on Tuesday to The National Abortion Federation, which has not responded to multiple requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBaby Harriet with her precious long feet had one eye open and was completely whole except that her brain had been suctioned out and her skull crushed,\u201d Lauren Handy, another PAAU member who says she intercepted the fetal remains, told The Daily Wire. \u201cThese injuries are consistent with what we\u2019d expect from a partial-birth abortion which is a federal crime. Santangelo has a history of being sloppy, facing wrongful death lawsuits, and ignoring the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In November 2012, an undercover pro-life activist working for Live Action <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NxOWyumLufA\">recorded Santangelo discussing<\/a> how he would allow babies to die if they were accidentally delivered during abortions.<\/p>\n<p>The Metropolitan Police Department would not comment on Santangelo or his past comments to The Daily Wire, citing \u201cthe ongoing nature of this investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Live Action video recording, posted in 2013, Santangelo told an expectant mother that her \u201cpregnancy\u201d was about the size of her hand, explaining that he hoped to get \u201cthe pregnancy out intact,\u201d but noting that \u201cit doesn\u2019t always happen that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cut the umbilical cord first, wait for the baby to expire, and then we do it that way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>When the mother asked Santangelo whether the baby might \u201cmove\u201d if it was born alive, the abortionist explained again, \u201cThat\u2019s why I try and sever the umbilical cord first, and we wait for that to stop pulsing, and this way the fetus is expired first, so it doesn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHas it ever survived?\u201d asked the mother, a woman who Live Action says was 24 weeks pregnant. \u201cAfter..when it comes out?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, not here, no,\u201d the abortionist responded. \u201cIt could! If some people go into labor prior to us\u2026when you do this, what we do is we try and help the cervix dilate, and some people will go into labor before we do this procedure. And that can happen, and it\u2019s unusual.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsually at this point in your pregnancy it is too early to survive, usually, it will expire shortly after birth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if it did, what would happen,\u201d the Live Action investigator asked. \u201cLike, would I have to take it home, or like-\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean technically, legally, we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive,\u201d he responded. \u201cBut you know, it probably wouldn\u2019t. It\u2019s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you have a pregnancy that is 23, 24 weeks\u2026if you do everything possible to help it survive, there\u2019s a maybe a 20-30% chance that it would survive,\u201d he said. \u201cIf you don\u2019t do anything then, you know, the chances are much, much less.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut would you make sure that it\u2026like\u2026doesn\u2019t survive,\u201d the Live Action investigator asked.<\/p>\n<p>Santangelo nodded, saying, \u201cYou know, there are things you do. Obviously, you\u2019re here for a certain procedure, and if your pregnancy were-let\u2019s say you went into labor, the membranes ruptured, and you delivered before we got to the termination of the procedure here, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen we would do things, we would not help it. We wouldn\u2019t intubate, let\u2019s say,\u201d he explained, noting that he \u201cwouldn\u2019t do any extra,\u201d comparing letting the baby die to letting a terminal person die. \u201cLike a \u2018do not resuscitate\u2019 order,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Santangelo noted that if the mother were in a hospital in Virginia and went into labor and medical professionals saw her deliver her baby, they would do everything to help her baby survive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut you won\u2019t?\u201d the mother questioned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wouldn\u2019t here,\u201d he answered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s happened before,\u201d Santangelo noted. \u201cWe\u2019ve had patients that, you know, on the second day of the laminaria, they got some contractions and they panicked, and they were in Virginia at the hospital, they went to the hospital, because they had some pain, instead of calling me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the hospital helped them to deliver,\u201d he continued. \u201cWhich was the stupidest thing they could have done..and they did everything they [inaudible] have done, which was help them to deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is the abortionist currently under fire for the mangled baby bodies recovered right here in DC. Live Action recorded him saying years ago that he would let babies die if they were accidentally delivered during abortions. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Lqb9cOYdwE\">pic.twitter.com\/Lqb9cOYdwE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mary Margaret Olohan (@MaryMargOlohan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1511445188916531203?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 5, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Kathi Aultman, a retired Board-Certified OB\/Gyn and an Associate Scholar with the Charlotte Lozier Institute who reviewed photographs of the aborted babies, \u201cBaby Girl #1\u201d was aborted in either the late 2nd or early 3rd trimester and likely had a decent chance at survival at her gestational age and size.<\/p>\n<p>Live Action posted photographs of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\/status\/1509996789943918602\">Baby Girl #1<\/a>\u201d on Twitter.\u00a0<strong>(Warning: Posts contain\u00a0graphic and\u00a0disturbing images.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cShe has some bruising of the face and some maceration of the skin, which could be consistent with death prior to the abortion,\u201d Aultman explained. \u201cShe appears intact and completely normal except for trauma to the neck, possibly from traction applied during the attempt to deliver the head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThere appears to be an incision at the base of the skull, and the head has been decompressed by removing the brain,\u201d Alutmann continued. \u201cThis is consistent with an Intact [dilation and evacuation] or [dilation and extraction]. If the baby was alive at the start of this procedure, it would be considered a Partial Birth Abortion and would be illegal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Dr. Kendra Kolb, a neonatologist, also\u00a0agreed that Baby Girl #1 appears to be between 28-30 weeks, noting \u201cevidence of deep lacerations to the posterior neck which presumably correlates to the method of abortion used to end her life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBaby Girl #2\u201d was in the second trimester and was dismembered through a dilation and evacuation dismemberment abortion, both Aultman and Kolb agreed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cShe has evidence of both\u00a0dismemberment of her upper extremity, decapitation, and organ evisceration as the\u00a0result of this unimaginably brutal procedure,\u201d said Kolb.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Live Action also posted photographs of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\/status\/1509997795461283864\">Baby Girl #2<\/a>\u201d on Twitter.\u00a0<strong>(Warning: Posts contain\u00a0graphic and\u00a0disturbing images.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHer head has been crushed or possibly decompressed using suction inserted through an incision in the skull,\u201d Aultman said. \u201cHer skin is macerated, and her tissues appear grey, consistent with death prior to the abortion.
