Oh, you\u2019re unscathed!\u2019 No. The young women on the channel we were on [Disney Channel] were so heavily sexualized from such an earlier age than my brother and I that there\u2019s absolutely no way that we could compare our experiences,\u201d\u00a0Sprouse\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/04\/movies\/cole-sprouse-moonshot.html\">told<\/a> <em>the New York Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20546606\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2022\/04\/ie_19040.jpeg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Cole Sprouse in Riverdale. CW<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The actor was asked if he believed it was possible for a child actors to come out of Hollywood \u201cunscathed,\u201d given that former child stars are often talked about \u201cin this dichotomy of either they spiral out of control or, somehow, \u2018come out OK.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery single person going through that trauma has a unique experience,\u201d\u00a0Sprouse continued. \u201cWhen we talk about child stars going nuts, what we\u2019re not actually talking about is how fame is a trauma.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019m violently defensive against people who mock some of the young women who were on the channel when I was younger because I don\u2019t feel like it adequately comprehends the humanity of that experience and what it takes to recover,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be quite honest, as I have now gone through a second big round of this fame game as an adult, I\u2019ve noticed the same psychological effects that fame yields upon a group of young adults as I did when I was a child,\u201d Sprouse said. \u201cI just think people have an easier time hiding it when they\u2019re older.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Disney has spent years on the wrong side of headlines and police investigations connected to the sexualization of young children.
