He has promised to \u201cmake significant improvements to Twitter\u201d and has polled his followers on whether or not Twitter \u201crigorously adheres\u201d to the principles of free speech.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, Lulu Cheng Meservey \u2014 the vice president of communications for Substack, a platform that supports subscription newsletters \u2014 told Twitter employees to not bother applying if they worry about Musk\u2019s reforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSubstack is hiring! If you\u2019re a Twitter employee who\u2019s considering resigning because you\u2019re worried about Elon Musk pushing for less regulated speech\u2026 please do not come work here,\u201d she tweeted. \u201cBut for everybody else, we really are hiring! According to Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon, Musk consulted with the Christian satire site \u2014 which was suspended from Twitter for an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/babylonbee.com\/news\/the-babylon-bees-man-of-the-year-is-rachel-levine\"><span>article<\/span><\/a><span> that jokingly named Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine as \u201cMan of the Year\u201d \u2014 before purchasing his stake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMusk reached out to us before he polled his followers about Twitter\u2019s commitment to free speech,\u201d Dillon reported. \u201cHe wanted to confirm that we had, in fact, been suspended. He even mused on that call that he might need to buy Twitter. Now he\u2019s the largest shareholder and has a seat on the board.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Twitter has thus far refused to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-responds-to-babylon-bees-appeal-keeps-them-locked-out-of-their-account\"><span>revoke<\/span><\/a><span> its decision to lock The Babylon Bee\u2019s account. According to Dillon, the company wrote: \u201cOur support team has determined that a violation did take place, and therefore we will not overturn our decision.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Twitter took similar action against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, who pointed out on Twitter that \u201cRachel Levine is a man.\u201d He was subsequently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/texas-ag-flagged-on-twitter-for-hateful-conduct-after-calling-biologically-male-rachel-levine-a-man\"><span>flagged<\/span><\/a><span> for \u201chateful conduct\u201d by the social media giant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last August, conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-suspends-conservative-pundit-allie-beth-stuckey-for-stating-that-transgender-weightlifter-is-a-man\"><span>suspended<\/span><\/a><span> for a tweet that criticized transgender Olympic weightlifter Laurel Hubbard competing against females: \u201cHubbard failing at the event doesn\u2019t make his inclusion fair.
