It\u2019s like the liberal coastal elite embodied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kelly then shared some of her own story \u2014 the fact that her father had passed away when she was still in high school and she had two older siblings already in college.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHe was only 45, we were not \u2013 we weren\u2019t rich to begin with. So it\u2019s not like he had some big fat life insurance policy. He had, like the bare minimum for when you\u2019re in your 40\u2019s and a professor,\u201d Kelly said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe used the entirety of that payment to pay for the rest of \u2013 what she could \u2013 of my brother and sister\u2019s college and my college education,\u201d Kelly continued. \u201cAnd all three of us had to take out loans on top of it, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, do I think now that I would\u2019ve been better if the federal government had stepped in?\u201d she asked, turning back to the issue at hand and asking whether students who voluntarily took out loans to fund their educations should have the government simply wipe that away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would\u2019ve been nice but I don\u2019t think the neighbors should have to pay for my college education. My mom made a sacrifice. We took out loans too but we paid them back!\u201d she continued. \u201cWhy should these snot-nosed kids today \u2013 I\u2019m sorry, the ones who really need it, they can get loans, but like you point out a lot of these people are going to be these college \u2013 Columbia \u2013 elite graduates who are going to spend their years in journalism trying to shame half of America for doing absolutely nothing wrong. Why should I be paying for their education? I don\u2019t want to!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump\u2019s administration had frozen <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/biden-admin-signals-it-might-extend-freeze-on-student-loan-payments-again\/\">student loan payments<\/a> due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Biden administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/05\/politics\/student-loan-moratorium-extended\/index.html\">extended the deadline<\/a> for that pause several times.
