Nearly four years after she racked up more than <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/stacey-abrams-im-running-governor-200000-debt-191600455.html\">$400,000<\/a> in credit card debt, student loans, back taxes, car loans, and real estate debt and <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2018\/04\/24\/stacey-abrams-debt-georgia-governor\/\">argued<\/a> that her massive financial dues shouldn\u2019t disqualify her from running, Abrams made at least $6 million dollars off of speeches, books, work, and holdings that largely centered around her baseless claims of election fraud. <\/p>\n<p>When Abrams lost the election in 2018 to then-Secretary of State Brian Kemp by 1.4 percentage points, she refused to formally concede on the grounds that the election was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/politics\/2018\/11\/18\/stacey-abrams-brian-kemp-legitimate-georgia-governor-bts-sotu-vpx.cnn\">\u201ctainted\u201d<\/a> and resulted in the \u201cdisinvestment and disenfranchisement of thousands of voters.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Abrams eventually acknowledged that Kemp \u201cwill be certified the victor in the 2018 gubernatorial election\u201d but refused to concede. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut to watch an elected official, who claims to represent the people in the state, baldly pin his hopes for election on the suppression of the people\u2019s democratic right to vote has been truly appalling,\u201d she said in her non-concession speech. \u201cSo let\u2019s be clear, this is not a speech of concession because concession means to acknowledge an action is right, true, or proper. As a woman of conscience and faith, I cannot concede that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There was no evidence for these claims, but Abrams profited off of them anyway. While her organization filed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/stacey-abrams-group-files-federal-suit-alleging-georgia-mismanaged-election-1543351922\">lawsuits alleging election misconduct<\/a>, Abrams clamored to get her election fraud allegations on corporate TV programming. <\/p>\n<p>Abrams\u2019 penchant for being a sore loser resonated with the Democrat Party, which was still bitter about former President Donald Trump\u2019s victory in 2016, and scored her political points with other failed candidates such as Hillary Clinton,\u00a0who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/hillary-clinton-once-claimed-that-questioning-election-results-was-a-threat-to-democracy-guess-what-shes-doing-now\">complained<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cif [Abrams] had a fair election, she already would have won.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>More recently, she <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ABCPolitics\/status\/1253000241827270657?s=20&#038;t=uw439z_oxOUOnJaNY0ibDA\">shoved her way<\/a> into now-President Joe Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/24\/imaginary-georgia-governor-stacy-abrams-dreams-of-being-vice-president\/\">vice president<\/a> considerations. When the corporate media\u2019s bid to put her in office didn\u2019t work out, Abrams made a national show of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/04\/27\/usa-today-retroactively-edits-stacey-abramss-op-ed-to-downplay-her-call-for-georgia-boycotts\/\">calling for boycotts of Georgia <\/a>when Republicans in her state passed election integrity laws. <\/p>\n<p>The Georgia Democrat\u2019s popularity with high-ranking Democrats pushed her to write several books outside of her <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/11\/02\/5-excerpts-from-stacey-abramss-hilarious-romance-novels\/\">normal steamy romance genre<\/a> and give more paid speeches, which together awarded her at least $5 million in payments over the last 3-plus years. She was also <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/06\/18\/amazon-funds-new-doc-on-fearless-stacey-abrams-set-to-promote-false-narrative-on-her-loss\/\">featured in an activist documentary funded by Amazon<\/a> highlighting her election fraud claims. <\/p>\n<p>By 2019, Abrams\u2019 lucrative election-doubting gig had reportedly floated her enough to pay off her credit card and student loan debt, which totaled more than $179,000. <\/p>\n<p>She also raked in $700,000 working for her organization, the Southern Economic Advancement Project, which <a href=\"https:\/\/theseap.org\/about\/\">boasts<\/a> about \u201cbroadening economic power and building a more equitable future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abrams\u2019 miraculous journey from debtor to multi-millionaire only happened because Democrats and the corporate media gave her a platform to repeat bogus election denialism \u2014 two years before they shamed Trump-supporting Republicans for raising legitimate election-rigging issues.
