The messaging was muddled, forcing even the president\u2019s top officials to disown their own leader\u2019s comments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 20 years in Washington, I have not seen a White House more disorganized, incompetent or mismanaged, in both the president\u2019s and vice president\u2019s office. It has a distinctly Monty Python-esque feel to it,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\" class=\"one-half\">\n<p>Is Joe Biden competent to lead the free world?<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-results\">\n<p>\n\t\t\tYes: 0% (0 Votes)\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tNo: 0% (0 Votes)\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The media event on Monday that served as the scene of Biden\u2019s most recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-keep-taking-knee-formal-photos-potus-goes-viral-taking-knee-front-sailors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bout of confusion<\/a> promoted Biden\u2019s Trucking Action Plan, which was actually rolled out last late year.<\/p>\n<p>Collin Long, director of government affairs for the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, said at the time that the plan was not in sync with the industry\u2019s needs, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/economy\/bidens-plan-truck-driver-shortage-high-turnover\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox Business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re putting so much emphasis on bringing in more drivers and not enough on what you do once they\u2019re in the field, how you get them to stay behind the wheel,\u201d Long said. \u201cHow do you make the job prosperous for them and safe for them? And a lot of that is what\u2019s missing from the proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrucker.com\/trucking-news\/the-nation\/white-house-offers-major-update-on-trucking-action-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Trucker<\/a>, the group summed up the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/supply-chain-hits-ford-chevy-hard-automakers-forced-suspend-production-2-muscle-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plan<\/a> as \u201ca mixed bag of policies\u201d in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The plan was also lambasted in a <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@ryan79z28\/why-the-biden-harris-trucking-action-plan-will-fail-fa5d70072ba5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Medium post<\/a> by trucker Ryan Jonson.<\/p>\n<div id=\"in-article-related\" class=\"in-article-more inner-content\">\n<p>Related:<\/p>\n<div class=\"in-article-more-right\">\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/ijr.com\/potus-viral-taking-knee-front-of-sailors\/\" data-type=\"Internal link\" data-type-location=\"in-content-related\">Why Does Biden Keep Taking a Knee in Formal Photos? I was a Zoom member of what (I think) was the first \u2018listening session\u2019 where the Department of Transportation, Department of Licensing, and Transportation Secretary Buttigieg himself held. For the 18\u201321-year-olds that get sucked up in this program, it will absolutely be life changing for some in ways they can\u2019t begin to imagine. This program is nothing but a mega carrier bailout. Few drivers will stay, because at its core, this program is designed to continue every single abuse that leads drivers to leave the industry,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis program starts at the wrong end of the problem,\u201d he said, citing multiple trucking industry problems that lead to drivers getting out of the business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Trucking Action Plan (TAP) addresses none of these issues. It lets all of them continue. This program is not going to solve any of the problems in the trucking industry. Its purpose is to provide enough warm bodies to satiate the need for endless workers for the trucking industry.
