But they need help to navigate this sensitive area. That is why we have published this guidance \u2013 to clarify the law and uphold everyone\u2019s rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Nurses Fired for Questioning NHS Transgender Polices, Parliament Told<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3ZmQXGMaC6\">https:\/\/t.co\/3ZmQXGMaC6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1492802949717925888?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 13, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The decision has been hailed by female rights activists, including feminist campaigner Maya Forstater, who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/talkRADIO\/status\/1511238294629138436\">told<\/a> talkRadio on Tuesday that safe spaces for women were not introduced only for safety, but also for \u201cdignity and privacy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a demand by people who want to use opposite-sex services in order to validate their feeling that they are really a man or a woman and there has been an expectation that they could do that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Forstater claimed that in many cases transgender people where told by their doctors to try to use single sex spaces \u201cas a test of whether they could get around in the world, but those doctors didn\u2019t have the right to overrule the consent of other people.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe are also going around our day to day lives, and we aren\u2019t there to validate someone\u2019s gender feelings, we are trying to have our own dignity and privacy,\u201d the campaigner concluded.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Number of Children Seeking Gender Reassignment Soared by 20 Per Cent During UK Lockdowns<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lfKr0uI8U9\">https:\/\/t.co\/lfKr0uI8U9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1506224166567096322?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The guidance on single sex spaces was criticised by the pro-Trans lobby, including from the radical LGBTQ organisation Stonewall, which claimed that the statement from the EHRC will only \u201ccreate more confusion\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt appears to go against the core presumption of the Act which is that inclusion should be the starting point, and shifts the focus towards reasons trans people, and specifically trans women, can be excluded,\u201d the group said.<\/p>\n<p>The advice from the EHRC did not extend to the issue of transgender prisoners, which has also become a touchstone issue in the country.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Though the UK opened its first\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/03\/04\/uk-transgender-prison-sex-attacks\/\">transgender prisoner wing<\/a>\u00a0in a women\u2019s prison in Downview in 2019, there are still trans inmates being placed among biologically female prison populations, despite concerns over the safety of women inmates.<\/p>\n<p>The British Parliament was <a href=\"http:\/\/data.parliament.uk\/WrittenEvidence\/CommitteeEvidence.svc\/EvidenceDocument\/Women%20and%20Equalities\/Transgender%20Equality\/written\/19532.html\">warned<\/a> in 2015 by\u00a0then-President of the British Association of Gender Identity Specialists,\u00a0Dr James Barrett, who said that there was a\u00a0\u201cplethora of prison intelligence suggesting\u201d that the \u201cdriving force\u201d behind many prison gender transitions was in order to make \u201csubsequent sexual offending very much easier\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, the High Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/07\/03\/transgender-women-in-female-only-prisons-is-lawful-high-court-rules\/\">ruled<\/a> last year that biological males could be placed in female prisons if they identify as women.
