Gavin Newsom (D) last year. It also required compliance with at least one member from such a community by December 31, 2021. By December 31, 2022, corporate boards were required to fill a minimum proportion of the seats on the board with \u201cunderrepresented community\u201d members based on the size of the board.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_20166826\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2022\/03\/Gavin-Newsom-Getty-e1646832520832.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">California Gov. (Photo by Justin Sullivan\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Conservative legal watchdog Judicial Watch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/california-corporate-diversity-law-ruled-unconstitutional\">sought<\/a> a permanent injunction on the measure citing the Golden State\u2019s equal protection clause, which was granted with no explanation from the judge.<\/p>\n<p>California lawyers argued the law did not \u201cdiscriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public\u00a0education, or public contracting\u201d in a court filing.<\/p>\n<p>The injunction \u201cdeclared unconstitutional one of the most blatant and significant attacks in the modern era on constitutional prohibitions against discrimination,\u201d Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said, according to Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>California released a \u201cDiversity on Boards\u201d report in March noting 300 of 700 corporations had complied, but over half did not file a disclosure statement.<\/p>\n<p><em>Breccan F.
