<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/bgdKLafk1M\">pic.twitter.com\/bgdKLafk1M<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Townhall.com (@townhallcom) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/townhallcom\/status\/1511070300754096132?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 4, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAt what age does the White House think that students should be taught about sexual orientation and gender identity?\u201d Doocy asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I would say first of all, Peter, we have spoken to the \u2018Don\u2019t Say Gay\u2019 bill in the past I believe is what you\u2019re referring to,\u201d Psaki replied, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/florida-democrats-chant-gay-to-protest-a-bill-that-doesnt-ban-anybody-from-saying-gay\/\">using the nickname<\/a> given to the law by those who oppose it \u2014 despite the fact that the word \u201cgay\u201d is not only not banned in the law, but it isn\u2019t even mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we look at this law, what we think it\u2019s a reflection of is politicians in Florida propagating misinformed, hateful policies that do absolutely nothing to address the real issues,\u201d she added, but did not directly answer his question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Department of Education is well-positioned and ready to evaluate what to do next and \u2014 its implementation \u2014 whether its implementation violates federal civil rights law,\u201d Psaki continued. \u201cBut note that parents across the country are looking to national, state, and district leaders to support our nation\u2019s students, to ensure that kids are treated equally in schools and that is not \u2013 this is certainly not a reflection of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doocy pressed again, making the question even more clear the second time. \u201cSo if you guys oppose this law that bans classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in K through 3, does the White House support that kind of classroom instruction before kindergarten?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psaki did not answer the question, instead asking whether Doocy had any examples of schools in Florida where that had been happening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just asking for the president\u2019s opinion,\u201d Doocy replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s a relevant question,\u201d Psaki said, still not answering Doocy\u2019s original question. \u201cI think that this is a politically charged, harsh law that is putting parents and LGBTQ+ kids in a very difficult, heartbreaking circumstance, and so I actually think that\u2019s a pretty relevant question.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest growing conservative media companies for breaking news, investigative reporting, sports, podcasts, in-depth analysis, books, and entertainment for a reason: because we believe in what we do.
