Come on by for a $10 gas card with your next purchase of a 12-piece or 20-piece Fried Chicken Family Meal, while supplies last.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We\u2019re giving away $1 MILLION IN GAS CARDS! For complete terms and conditions visit: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aXoT794Fov\">https:\/\/t.co\/aXoT794Fov<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fNesihTGBW\">pic.twitter.com\/fNesihTGBW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bojangles (@Bojangles) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Bojangles\/status\/1510995645720576010?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 4, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The company also issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bojangles.com\/news-and-community\/bojangles-to-give-away-1-million-in-free-gas\/\">statement<\/a> on its website announcing the move.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBojangles, the legendary Southern food chain known for its chicken, biscuits and tea, is giving away $1 million in free gas to help customers offset the rising cost of fueling up their tanks,\u201d the company wrote. \u201cBeginning today until supplies run out, every purchase of a Bojangles Family Meal \u2013 featuring 12 or 20 pieces of bone-in chicken, plus scratch-made biscuits, choice of home-style fixins and Legendary Iced Tea\u00ae \u2013 will come with a $10 gas gift card.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSoutherners are known for being friendly neighbors, so as a Southern brand, it\u2019s in our DNA to want to help our customers who are feeling the pain of soaring gas prices,\u201d Bojangles Chief Brand and Marketing Officer Jackie Woodward said in the press release. \u201cWe don\u2019t want anyone to have to choose between enjoying a delicious meal with the family or buying gas, so let Bojangles help with both.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGas prices reached the highest levels on record in March 2022,\u201d the company wrote further, citing data from AAA. \u201cAs a family-forward chain known for providing great food and tremendous value, Bojangles saw an opportunity to rally and help thousands of customers during the gas crunch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This is the first time in Bojangles\u2019 history that we\u2019ve ever given away $1 million, but we know our customers are worth it, and we\u2019re just glad that we could come together with all of our franchisees to support them,\u201d said Woodward. \u201cThe $10 gas cards are available while supplies last on all 12- or 20-piece bone-in chicken Family Meals purchased in-store, at the drive-thru or with order ahead using the Bojangles app.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gas prices reached <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-u-s-national-average-price-of-gasoline-hits-new-all-time-record-high-report-says\">record highs<\/a> in early March, as The Daily Wire reported. AAA recorded an all-time high on March 11. Gas prices soared to a national average of $4.331 a gallon, breaking previous records. According to AAA, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\">national average<\/a> currently sits at $4.189 a gallon. In California, the statewide average is $5.854 per gallon.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of giving consumers gas cards has also been mulled by government officials. The White House briefly considered giving away gas cards to consumers, but the idea was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/conservatives-roast-white-house-after-report-it-considered-giving-americans-gas-cards\">mocked<\/a> by conservatives and shot down by policymakers.
