Apartment rents are up too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf the markets in our analysis, 97.7 percent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.com\/research\/average-rent-price-report\/\">recorded<\/a> price increases for one-bedrooms and all markets saw increases for two-bedrooms [100 percent],\u201d the report, issued last month, said. \u201cNationwide rent prices have increased significantly year-over-year. One- and two-bedroom rents were up 24.4 percent and 21.8 percent, respectively.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The average rent price for a one-bedroom was $1,684 and $1,997 for a two-bedroom.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The report listed the eight U.S. cities that have seen the largest increase in one-bedroom rent year-over-year. Six of those cities \u2014 Orlando, Florida; Huntington Beach, California; Chandler, Arizona; Jersey City, New Jersey; and Amarillo, Texas \u2014 have a population of 300,000 or less:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Long Beach, CA (+56.7 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Chandler, AZ (+50.8 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Amarillo, TX (+46.6 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Huntington Beach, CA (+44.9 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Jersey City, NJ (+43.6 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Orlando, FL (+42.4 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Irvine, CA (+39.2 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Austin, TX (+36.9 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Portland, OR (+34.2 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Mesa, AZ (+30.6 percent)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report also listed the U.S. cities that saw the greatest increase in two-bedroom rents, and four of those cities \u2014 Little Rock, Arkansas; Salt Lake City, Utah; Augusta, Georgia; and Fremont, California \u2014 have populations of 300,000 or less:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fresno, CA (+71.3 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Huntington Beach, CA (+55.2 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Little Rock, AR (+45.0 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Salt Lake City, UT (+43.2 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Augusta, GA (+38.7 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Albuquerque, NM (+38.3 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Raleigh, NC (+38.2 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Miami, FL (+36.3 percent)<\/li>\n<li>Fremont, CA (+34.6 percent)<\/li>\n<li>San Diego, CA (+34.3 percent)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cMany renters have put their home buying dreams on pause due to increasing home prices and bidding wars,\u201d the report said. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/housing-market-update-2022-forecast\/\">Redfin shared<\/a> that the median home price jumped 14 percent year-over-year in January while active listings remain low.
