Susan Collins in declaring their intent to vote in favor of confirming Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. <\/p>\n<p>Their announcements on Monday indicate that President Joe Biden&#8217;s first pick to the high court, whose nomination is set to advance beyond the Senate Judiciary Committee after <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/committee-votes-to-move-jackson-supreme-court-nomination-to-full-senate-vote\">a deadlock vote<\/a>, will be confirmed with at least a 53-47 vote. A simple majority is all that is needed, and all Democrats and independents are expected to back Jackson, who would be the first black woman Supreme Court justice. <\/p>\n<div class=\"Enhancement\">\n<div class=\"Enhancement-item\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;After reviewing Judge Jackson&#8217;s record and testimony, I have concluded that she is a well-qualified jurist and a person of honor,&#8221; Romney, a Utah Republican, said in a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenatorRomney\/status\/1511106814175330305\">statement<\/a>. &#8220;While I do not expect to agree with every decision she may make on the Court, I believe that she more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity.&#8221; <\/p>\n<div class=\"Enhancement\">\n<div class=\"Enhancement-item\">\n<div class=\"TweetEmbed\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I intend to vote in support of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson\u2019s confirmation to be an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
