The pass intersects with Interstate 15 at times and once made up part of the famed Route 66, local San Bernardino news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbsun.com\/2020\/07\/27\/along-early-route-66-in-cajon-pass-cozy-dell-ranch-was-the-place-to-stop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Sun<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A black-and-white photo shared on Facebook claims to show the pass in use, seemingly before the invention of the car. The photo shows pack animals and wagons making their way along a dirt path. \u201cThe original Highway 15 \u2014 Route 66 \u2014 out of California. Cajon Pass back in the day,\u201d reads text included in the image. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/04\/27\/fact-check-image-traffic-19-lane-interstate-405-los-angeles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Image Show Bumper-To-Bumper Traffic On A 19-Lane Los Angeles Freeway?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The image featured in the post does not show the pass. A reverse image search revealed the same image can be found on the Granger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.granger.com\/results.asp?image=0163440&#038;itemw=4&#038;itemf=0003&#038;itemstep=1&#038;itemx=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Historical Picture Archive<\/a> website with a caption that states it shows a mountain pass in Colorado, not California. \u201cCOLORADO: UTE PASS, c1875.
