Dick Durbin and Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, the ranking members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, arguing Jackson\u2019s nomination to the Supreme Court would \u201charm the institution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter was signed by:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Ketanji Brown Jackson is unfit to serve on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SCOTUS?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SCOTUS<\/a>. My fellow AGs agree.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f She supports CRT<br \/>\u27a1\ufe0f She cannot define a \u201cwoman\u201d<br \/>\u27a1\ufe0f She is unforgivably soft on monsters who possess, publish, produce images of child rape.<\/p>\n<p>See our letter to Senate Judiciary: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/olhySlNMKY\">pic.twitter.com\/olhySlNMKY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Attorney General Ken Paxton (@KenPaxtonTX) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KenPaxtonTX\/status\/1510995168173899776?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 4, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The letter highlighted Jackson\u2019s leniency toward criminals convicted of being in possession of \u201cimages of child rape\u201d as their reason for opposing Biden\u2019s SCOTUS pick. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/24\/ken-paxton-texas-pride-week-school-sex-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u00a0A \u2018Week-Long Indoctrination Of Your Students,\u2019 Texas Attorney General Says School District Is Breaking Texas Law In \u2018Pride Week\u2019 Events)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudge Jackson hasn\u2019t merely erred on the more forgiving end of the spectrum of available punishments, as many judges sometimes do,\u201d the letter stated. \u201cRather, during her decade-long tenure as a federal district judge, she repeatedly cast victims aside, elevated criminal defendants above them, and sentenced the abusers well below the accepted federal guidelines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackson sentenced criminals from \u201c15 to nearly 70 percent less\u201d than the recommended sentencing by prosecutors in \u201cdozens\u201d of child pornography cases, according to the letter.<\/p>\n<p>The state attorneys general said Jackson\u2019s history of being \u201csoft on crime\u201d for non-contact sex offenses is \u201ccompletely out of touch with how Americans want our justice system to treat child-sex criminals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley drew attention to Jackson\u2019s record on sentencing criminals convicted of having child pornography in a March 16 tweet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudge Jackson has a pattern of letting child porn offenders off the hook for their appalling crimes, both as a judge and as a policymaker. She\u2019s been advocating for it since law school. This goes beyond \u2018soft on crime.\u2019 I\u2019m concerned that this [is] a record that endangers our children,\u201d Hawley <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/1504221927665250305?s=20&#038;t=vgDLVnSqjnGJHRQ1na30bQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/22\/ketanji-brown-jackson-child-pornography-sentencing-supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">defended<\/a> her sentencing record during her Senate confirmation hearing, arguing that Congress determines how much discretion judges have to determine the punishment for child-sex criminals.
