Henderson\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think moments of silence are going to do anything,\u201d Kerr said. \u201cAt some point \u2026 our government has to decide are we going to have some commonsense gun laws, it\u2019s not going to solve everything, but it will save lives.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cDespite the fact that 80 to 90% of Americans support background checks and you know, you think about all of the common sense laws we could and should put in place,\u201d Kerr said without bothering to elucidate how \u201cbackground checks\u201d could have stopped the shooting that is likely gang-related.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we had any guts, if our government had any guts, if people put others in front of their own career paths, you know,\u201d Kerr added, \u201cin front of their own reelection campaigns, in front of their own propaganda to manipulate people. It\u2019s right there in front of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Sacramento Kings\u2019 coach, Alvin Gentry, also chimed in, calling the shooting \u201can incredible tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that something like that can still happen nowadays in an environment where everybody is really out having fun, just trying to have fun and have a good time,\u201d Gentry said. \u201cIt\u2019s a sad day.
