Tickets were selling for as much as $1,000 in the hours before the event, marking a massive surge in demand to see the comedian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The outlet reported that the \u201conly time the audience seemed to collectively cringe\u201d was when Rock commented on abortion. He mocked the idea of a \u201csafe abortion,\u201d observing that a \u201csafe abortion is an abortion where only <\/span><i><span>one <\/span><\/i><span>person dies, I guess?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Rock, however, by no means appears to oppose abortion. Rock reportedly joked that he\u2019s not pro-choice but \u201cpro better choice,\u201d telling women that \u201cif you have to pay for your own abortion, get an abortion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The notion that abortion is \u201csafe\u201d \u2014 despite the child killed through the procedure \u2014 is a common catchphrase. The World Health Organization <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news-room\/fact-sheets\/detail\/abortion\"><span>says<\/span><\/a><span> that \u201cabortion is a safe health care intervention\u201d when carried out using the appropriate method. Planned Parenthood <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/abortion\/considering-abortion\/what-facts-about-abortion-do-i-need-know\"><span>claims<\/span><\/a><span> that \u201cboth in-clinic and medication abortions are very safe\u201d and that \u201cabortion is one of the safest medical procedures out there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Planned Parenthood <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/5-disturbing-insights-from-planned-parenthoods-annual-report\"><span>completed<\/span><\/a><span> 354,871 \u201cabortion procedures\u201d in 2020, according to the organization\u2019s 2020 annual report. The figure amounts to 972 abortions per day and 41 abortions per hour across the United States. Planned Parenthood, based on those statistics, carries out an abortion every ninety seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Though America\u2019s 862,000 annual abortions represent the leading cause of death in the United States, Planned Parenthood\u2019s abortions alone would represent the third-leading cause of death, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/fastats\/leading-causes-of-death.htm\"><span>followed<\/span><\/a><span> by COVID-19, accidental deaths, respiratory disease, stroke, and Alzheimer\u2019s disease as of 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Planned Parenthood also reported that taxpayer dollars accounted for $618.1 million of Planned Parenthood\u2019s $1.641 billion in revenues \u2014 in other words, federal funds accounted for nearly 38% of the organization\u2019s income.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Supreme Court is presently considering arguments for <\/span><i><span>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/span><\/i><span>, which pertains to a Mississippi law that bans abortions after 15 weeks gestation. As the Justices prepare to release their verdict, a growing number of lawmakers across the country are filing bills to abolish abortion rather than regulating it through heartbeat acts and cutoffs at various gestational ages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Texas State Rep.
