Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/washington-dc-business-owner-the-big-board-speaks-out-liquor-license-suspended\">suspended<\/a> The Big Board\u2019s liquor license in early February, crippling the bar\u2019s business, after determining that the bar had failed to check vaccine cards and enforce the city\u2019s mask mandate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think, ultimately, DC is going to come to the right answers,\u201d Flannery said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love this country. I served this country. I believe in what it is,\u201d said Flannery, who is a veteran. \u201cIn the end, people are going to realize these aren\u2019t any kind of partisan values, they\u2019re American values. A GoFundMe page started by Daily Caller congressional correspondent Henry Rodgers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/fundraiser-for-big-board-dc-fighting-communism\">raised over $34,000<\/a> in The Big Board\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>The same night that the Health Department showed up at the bar and slapped a notice of closure on the door, multiple Republican lawmakers came to The Big Board (where no alcohol could be served) and ordered burgers in support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen people ask me, \u2018Where are you going to get on the other side of this?\u2019 I don\u2019t know. I just know that I\u2019m doing the right thing,\u201d Flannery told lawmakers that night. \u201cAnd this place is supposed to be open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Discussing the support he has received from Americans across the country with The Daily Signal, Flannery became emotional. He read a letter from a couple in Amherst, Wisconsin, who expressed their support for him and sent him a $500 check.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate folks like yourself who are willing to risk your livelihoods to fight for our freedoms,\u201d they wrote, with the quote, \u201cNow is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. Now, more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never met them before in my life,\u201d he said with tears in his eyes, as he showed the $500 check. \u201cWow. Thank you.
