I try to choose things that will keep me out of harm\u2019s way as much as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CbLKy3QLnKz\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>The California native star moved to New York when she landed the role of Sergeant Ayanna Bell on \u201cLaw &#038; Order: Organized Crime,\u201d which premiered in 2021, the outlet noted. She shared how \u201cyears ago\u201d she would travel to New York to visit friends and ride the subway at 3am.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was kind of cool, especially being from California, because we don\u2019t have that option out there,\u201d the actress said. \u201cJust to walk around and hop on a train and go wherever you want to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, I loved it but now because of COVID and all the stuff that\u2019s going on, I\u2019m just taking Ubers,\u201d she added. \u201cYour head has to be in a swivel while riding the train.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cRebel\u201d star\u2019s comments come following a series of horrific <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/another-person-pushed-onto-nyc-subway-tracks-calls-growing-for-safety-measures\">violent crimes<\/a> that has happened in subway stations and on trains.<\/p>\n<p>As previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nyc-mayor-says-he-doesnt-feel-safe-on-subway-system\">reported<\/a> by the Daily Wire, New York Mayor Eric Adams even admitted to not feeling \u201csafe\u201d on the subway system.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Even New York Mayor Eric Adams admitted he did not feel safe on the city\u2019s subways, as The Daily Wire reported. \u201cOn day one, I took the subway system, I felt unsafe. I saw homeless everywhere. People were yelling on the trains. There was a feeling of disorder. So as we deal with the crime problem, we also have to deal with the fact people feel unsafe,\u201d Adams said. The mayor\u2019s comments came just a day after he was accused of dismissing concerns about subway safety as a \u201cperception of fear\u201d in the wake of Go\u2019s death.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/serious-crimes-up-in-nyc-report-finds-as-new-mayor-dismisses-concerns\">reported<\/a> by the Daily Wire, the New York Police Department (NYPD) statistics show that serious crimes have increased, with transit crimes rising more than 65%.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cMajor Big Apple crimes jumped by more than a third in the first two weeks of this year compared to the same period in 2021 \u2014 with transit crimes alone soaring 65.5 percent,\u201d the Post reported. \u201cWhile the figures remain a small sample size, the upward trend provides an early challenge for Adams as he tries to reassure jittery straphangers that cops have everything in hand underground after several terrifying recent rail attacks, particularly Saturday\u2019s horrific random fatal subway push in Times Square.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe report said there were 96 incidents in the transit system compared to 58 last year, led by an increase in robberies and grand larcenies, but the overall number was lower than it was before the pandemic in 2019,\u201d The Daily Wire added. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><i>Enter for the chance to hang out with Gina Carano at the premiere of her new Daily Wire movie, Terror on the Prairie!
