There were things that I rebelled against,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson returned to \u201cThe X-Files\u201d world for the movie in 2008 and two additional seasons in 2016 and 2018. When that door closed again, she had no plans to return \u2014 and still doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just feels like such an old idea. I\u2019ve done it, I did it for so many years, and it also ended on such an unfortunate note,\u201d she says, referring to Scully\u2019s pregnancy reveal. \u201cIn order to even begin to have that conversation [about another season] there would need to be a whole new set of writers and the baton would need to be handed on for it to feel like it was new and progressive.
