None of the ingredients listed in the post are actually in McNuggets, according to the McDonald\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The image appears to show an ingredients list for McDonald\u2019s Chicken McNuggets found on the McDonald\u2019s website. The ingredients, according to the post, include items like horn shavings, salami lids, greasoned pork tips and chicken extract. \u201cMcDonald\u2019s Chicken Nuggets Ingredient List Is Currently Viral &#038; People Are Disgusted,\u201d reads text included in the post.<\/p>\n<p>The list is fabricated. The real <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcdonalds.com\/us\/en-us\/product\/chicken-mcnuggets-4-piece.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ingredient list<\/a>, which can be found on the McDonald\u2019s website, includes items like white boneless chicken, water, vegetable oil and enriched flour. The same list has been published in articles by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/uk\/entertainment\/news\/a39466\/ingredients-in-mcdonalds-nuggets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cosmopolitan Magazine<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livestrong.com\/article\/1006054-whats-really-inside-those-mcdonalds-chicken-mcnuggets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Strong<\/a>. None of the ingredients listed in the Instagram post are mentioned on the McDonald\u2019s website. Check Your Fact found no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS820US820&#038;q=horn+shavings,+salami+lids,+seasoned+pork+tips+Mcdonald%27s+Chicken+Nuggets&#038;spell=1&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=2ahUKEwjug-7m8fD2AhWBKM0KHaZ4Au0QBSgAegQIARAy&#038;biw=1536&#038;bih=722&#038;dpr=1.25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">credible news reporting<\/a> to suggest the fast-food item contains any of the ingredients listed in the Instagram post.<\/p>\n<p>Conspiracy theories surrounding McDonald\u2019s menu items have circulated for years. In 2014, former \u201cMythBusters\u201d host Grant Imahara investigated the Tyson Foods processing plant in Tennessee, at McDonald\u2019s request, after rumors started spreading that McNuggets were made from \u201cpink slime\u201d and \u201cpoultry beaks,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/culture\/whats-really-in-a-mcdonalds-chicken-mcnugget-former-mythbuster-finds-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNET<\/a>. Imahara found that assembly line workers were cutting up chicken \u201cjust like you would at home or like a butcher would,\u201d CNET reported. Neither Imahara nor CNET mention any abnormal ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s Canada also released a video in 2014, which can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ua5PaSqKD6k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a>, showing how the McNuggets are made. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/06\/30\/fact-check-human-meat-mcdonalds-factory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Was Human Meat Found At A McDonald\u2019s Factory?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact previously debunked claims that <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/06\/30\/fact-check-human-meat-mcdonalds-factory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">human meat<\/a> was found at a McDonald\u2019s factory, reporting that the claim originated from a satire website.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact has reached out to McDonald\u2019s for comment and will update this piece if a response is given.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An image shared on Instagram purportedly shows the ingredients of McDonald\u2019s Chicken McNuggets.
