And we\u2019re getting results for the American people which is what it\u2019s all about, to state the obvious,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In the past month, Biden has repeatedly blamed Putin for the rise in gas prices, branding the higher costs as \u201cPutin\u2019s price hike.\u201d But on Friday he blamed the Russian president for rising food prices as well.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Food price inflation was already at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/03\/31\/pce-prices\/\">record levels<\/a> before Putin escalated his war in Ukraine in February.<\/p>\n<p>Biden acknowledged more had to be done to reduce the cost of goods.\u00a0\u201cWe need to do more to get prices under control,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The president did not offer a plan on Friday to reduce food costs, but again proposed raising taxes on American billionaires to raise $360 billion in government revenue that could be redistributed to lower-income families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m asking you one simple question \u2014 just pay your fair share,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Biden told reporters that the world should expect \u201creal\u201d food shortages as a consequence of Putin\u2019s invasion.
