Ebenhack)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>DeSantis said that Disney has &#8220;lost a lot of the pull that they used to have&#8221; over the company&#8217;s reaction to the parental rights law and said he thinks that\u2019s a &#8220;good thing for our state because the state should be governed by the best interest of the people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/disney-has-betrayed-the-very-values-that-were-responsible-for-its-success-orthodox-rabbis-warn\"><strong><u>DISNEY HAS BETRAYED THE VERY VALUES THAT WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS SUCCESS, ORTHODOX RABBIS WARN<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would say any special privileges that are in law I would like to get rid of generally,&#8221; DeSantis added. &#8220;I think in this particular case with Disney, I just don\u2019t think you have very many people in the legislature anymore who are going to be able to defend a lot of what has been done over many years to really have them almost govern themselves in some of these things. Spencer Roach tweeted that he has met with legislators to discuss repealing the self-governing law in response to Disney\u2019s recent actions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yesterday was the 2nd meeting in a week w\/fellow legislators to discuss a repeal of the 1967 Reedy Creek Improvement Act, which allows Disney to act as its own government,&#8221; Roach tweeted. &#8220;If Disney wants to embrace woke ideology, it seems fitting that they should be regulated by Orange County.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/apps-products?pid=AppArticleLink\"><strong><u>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After DeSantis signed the school-related bill this week, Disney released a statement slamming the legislation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Florida\u2019s HB 1557, also known as the \u2018Don\u2019t Say Gay\u2019 bill, should never have passed and should never have been signed into law,&#8221; Disney said. &#8220;Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that. It is not based on the demands of California corporate executives,&#8221; DeSantis said. &#8220;They do not run this state. They do not control this state.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Recent polling has shown that the bill is popular among Florida voters, including 52% of likely voters in the Democratic primary who say that they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/floridas-parental-rights-bill-popular-voters-despite-democratic-attacks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>oppose<\/u><\/a> the kind of teaching that the bill prohibits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
