And the Lord showed me the door with all of the political stances the NFL was making, the COVID policies, all of this nonsense. He was like, \u2018Hey, I\u2019m going to make it easy for you. I gave you 10 and then head on down the road.\u2019 And then he opened up another door with all this law enforcement stuff. And it\u2019s been a good transition so far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Larkin also asked Sherman about his experience being a vocal supporter of law enforcement in the wake of the NFL\u2019s increased attention to social justice, and anti-police statements made by prominent NFL players and other celebrities. Sherman replied that his views were respected and largely uncontroversial within the Chiefs locker room. \u201cI kind of had one of those, like, \u2018this is who Sherman was, this who Sherman is, like, leave him alone,\u2019\u201d Sherman said. \u201cHe\u2019s going to have his opinion, and he\u2019s not going to change his mind about it \u2014 any aspect of that. I kind of demanded \u2014 not demanded, but had a respect in the locker room, that it wasn\u2019t, \u2018Oh, geez, here comes Sherman,\u2019 whatever. It was kind of one of those things where it was, I am who I am, and if you don\u2019t like it, then we don\u2019t have to talk. I\u2019ve got my friends. I don\u2019t need many more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sherman added that the team as a whole was unified and focused on success on the field. \u201cThe locker room was great,\u201d Sherman said. \u201cCoach [Andy] Reid and [General Manager Brett] Veach did a great job of bringing in guys. And that\u2019s one of the things I think is the reason they\u2019ve had so much success in the last four or five years. One, Patrick Mahomes. Two is the locker room itself. Everyone loves each other regardless of where you grew up, how you grew up, where you went to school, whatever it is. We have one goal and it\u2019s to win the Super Bowl, and I don\u2019t care what has to happen, but we\u2019re gonna do it, we\u2019re gonna accomplish it together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sherman played fullback for 10 years with the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. He currently serves as a part-time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chanute.com\/sports\/article_a63b4ce0-fc98-11eb-a8ef-3bba77c6275e.html\">sheriff\u2019s deputy<\/a> in Bourbon County, Kansas, and as a part-time <a href=\"https:\/\/fox4kc.com\/sports\/chiefs\/former-chiefs-fullback-anthony-sherman-joins-fight-against-human-trafficking-with-hsi-kansas-city\/\">Task Force Officer<\/a> with the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s investigative arm, Homeland Security Investigations.
