Ron DeSantis (R) said during a Thursday press conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where he announced another round of $1,000 bonuses for Florida first responders.<\/p>\n<p>During the presser, DeSantis announced another round of $1,000 bonuses for first responders in the state, noting that no state has done more for law enforcement than Florida. While this is not the first time the Sunshine State has awarded bonuses to first responders, the governor said they wanted to do it again to not only show support but to \u201chelp them deal with Bidenflation that you\u2019re seeing.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Americans, he said, are dealing with \u201chuge, crushing\u201d inflation that has not been seen in over four decades. Gas prices are skyrocketing and President Biden has refused to take responsibility for his bad policies, DeSantis said, noting that Biden is now using the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which he likened to a \u201cbandaid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe refuses to utilize energy resources in our own country,\u201d he said, blasting Biden for seeking help from dictators to address our energy woes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see the wages when ideology takes precedent over both national security and the pocketbooks of hardworking Floridians and Americans,\u201d DeSantis said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Overall, bad federal policy \u2014\u00a0 printing trillions and \u201cspending money we don\u2019t have\u201d \u2014 is driving inflation, DeSantis said, adding that we were within \u201ca\u00a0whisker of them doing trillions more,\u201d which\u00a0 he said would have \u201caccelerated\u201d it to no end.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all this, Biden refuses to go back to the days of\u00a0 American energy independence.
