questioning a number of South Asian men claiming to be 60-year-old Ukrainian refugees has gone viral, with the footage prompting questions about the people being given asylum in Western Europe <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OF5fuS0Qwq\">https:\/\/t.co\/OF5fuS0Qwq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1508144570583826433?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Britain has received significant criticism over its approach to taking in Ukrainian refugees, the nation having approved around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/homes-for-ukraine-grants-just-2-700-visas-despite-28-000-offering-homes-p79nrwf8s\">2,700<\/a> visas as part of its Homes for Ukraine scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the country\u2019s western neighbour Ireland is now floating around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/news\/2022\/0328\/1288931-ukrainian-refugees-mcentee\/\">13,500<\/a>, despite the island\u2019s minute population when compared with Britain.<\/p>\n<p>Despite mounting criticism, this careful approach has been backed by the UK\u2019s Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has insisted that Britain must be \u201ccareful\u201d regarding who the country lets in.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Some Conservative Party members have hit back at this notion, however, noting that, while many seemingly genuine Ukrainian refugees struggle to gain access to the country, other migrants illegally entering Britain are being processed within the system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy can\u2019t we get the right people through our immigration system instead of the wrong ones?\u201d Bill Wiggin MP asked the Prime Minister, noting that record numbers of migrants have been \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/30\/over-3000-illegal-migrants-land-this-month-in-britain\/\">turning up in rubber boats<\/a>\u201d on England\u2019s coast.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Ireland\u2019s so-called \u201chumanitarian response\u201d to the crisis is also coming under fire from those residing on the island, with some raising <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/27\/youre-very-young-looking-south-asian-men-claiming-to-be-60-years-old-ukrainian-refugees-quizzed-in-ireland\/\">doubts<\/a> in regards to the real origins of many claiming asylum after a video of some of Ireland\u2019s would-be asylum seekers was uploaded online.<\/p>\n<p>In the footage taken by \u201ccitizen journalist\u201d Philip Dwyer, a number of men claiming to be originally from Kashmir discussed how and why they were claiming asylum in Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>One of the men who was speaking for the group said that they were all Ukrainian citizens, and that they were all over the age of 60, and so were not forced to stay and fight Russia in the war-torn country.<\/p>\n<p>However, Dwyer noted in the video that the men were \u201cvery young looking\u201d for their age, while others online expressed doubt over some of the claims made by the asylum seekers in the video.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, reports from France <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/13\/euro-mp-claims-african-migrants-exploiting-ukraine-war-to-enter-eu\/\">suggest<\/a> that as many as one in three of those arriving in the country through corridors meant for Ukrainian refugees might not actually be Ukrainian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]oday a third of the refugees who pass through Ukraine who do not come from Ukraine, but\u2026 come from sub-Saharan Africa in particular\u2026 [they] use this new migratory route to come to Europe,\u201d Nicolas Bay MEP, a close ally of French Presidential hopeful Eric Zemmour, reportedly said.<\/p>\n<p>Officials in France have disputed the exact nature of this figure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ireland\u2019s open borders are being used by refugees to sneak into the UK, the country\u2019s Local Government Association believes.
