The chief executives of\u00a0Chevron, Devon, Exxon Mobil, Pioneer Natural Resources, and the presidents of Shell USA and BP America are all expected to be witnesses.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cFossil fuel companies are not doing enough to relieve pain at the pump, instead lining their pockets with one hand while sitting on the other,\u201d the Democrats\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/us-house-panel-hold-oil-company-ceo-hearing-gas-prices-2022-03-29\/?rpc=401&#038;\">said<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s time we get to the bottom of why oil companies are content to watch Americans suffer so that their shareholders and executives can reap enormous profits.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Unfortunately for those pushing this idea that oil companies were intentionally starving us of oil, on the very next day a massive coalition of climate change alarmist groups released their report\u00a0titled\u00a0\u201cBanking on Climate Chaos: Fossil Fuel Finance Report 2022.\u201d The report actually contains the news that the four largest U.S. banks shrank their financing for fossil fuels by nearly 15 percent between 2019 and 2021. This, however, is not treated as a sign of progress but as a sign of banks dragging their heels in getting out of the fossil fuel business.<\/p>\n<p>The final section of the report is entitled \u201cconclusions and demands\u201d because of course it is. It\u2019s never enough to simply <em>conclude<\/em> for the left or make recommendations. It\u2019s got to be <em>demands<\/em>. So the conclusions and demand section begins with the following demand: \u201cProhibit all financing for all fossil fuel expansion\u00a0projects and for all companies expanding fossil\u00a0fuel extraction and infrastructure along the\u00a0whole value chain.\u201d In other words, they are demanding the end to all financing for the very thing that the Democrats are holding hearings to investigate.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re tempted to show up at the hearing with this very document.
