On Tuesday, for example, White House press secretary Jen Psaki refused to say if the Biden administration would violate the Hyde Amendment. The amendment, in theory, protects pro-life American taxpayers from funding abortion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/psaki-refuses-to-guarantee-that-taxpayer-money-in-stimulus-bill-wont-go-toward-abortions\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cWe know where President Biden stands on Hyde Amendment,\u201d [EWTN reporter Owen] Jensen said. \u201cBut that being said, can this administration right now guarantee if the American rescue plan is passed that no taxpayer dollars will go to the abortion industry?\u201d \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWell, the president\u2019s view on the Hyde Amendment is well known as you have stated in your question,\u201d Psaki responded. \u201cHe also believes that community health centers are a key part of addressing the pandemic of ensuring that people and communities have access to vaccines, have access to treatment and information about making sure they\u2019re healthy and their loved ones are healthy. So that remains a priority to the president. He\u2019s shared his view on the Hyde Amendment. I don\u2019t think I have anything for you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf I can follow up on that, can you guarantee Americans who don\u2019t want their tax dollars, pro-life Americans who don\u2019t want their tax dollars funding abortion, can the administration guarantee those taxpayer dollars won\u2019t go to the abortion industry?\u201d Jensen pressed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWell, I think, Owen, as I\u2019ve just noted, three quarters of the public supports the components of the package, wants to see the pandemic get under control, wants to see people put back to work, vaccines in arms,\u201d she responded. \u201cSo I think that answers your question.
