While Ruto did recently travel to the U.K., there is no evidence he met with Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ruto visited the U.K. and the U.S. during a 10-day international trip that ended on March 9, according to the Kenyan news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standardmedia.co.ke\/politics\/article\/2001439912\/what-ruto-is-up-to-after-returning-to-kenya-from-uk-us-trips\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Standard<\/a>. A March 7 image claims to show a massive crowd of people in the U.K., some carrying flags, escorting Ruto to a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappening in the streets of United Kingdom,\u201d reads the post\u2019s caption. \u201cDr.William Ruto being escorted by hustlers and kenyans in diaspora to meet Queen Elizabeth.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/07\/28\/fact-check-donald-trump-tweet-support-william-ruto-kenya-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Donald Trump Tweet He Will \u2018Personally Support\u2019 William Ruto During Kenya\u2019s 2022 Election?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The pictured image shared in the post is not from the U.K., however. A reverse image search reveals <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/world-unites-putin-ukraine-invasion-19436a4b-2c7c-4af0-bcea-0f3de4608ec6.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Axios<\/a> published a wider version of the photo in a Feb. 27 article about the global reaction to Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine. \u201cAbout 100,000 protesters turn out in Berlin on Feb. 27 to protest Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine and show solidarity with the Ukrainian people,\u201d reads the image\u2019s caption. Notably, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitberlin.de\/en\/brandenburg-gate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brandenburg Gate<\/a>, a well-known structure in Berlin, Germany, is visible in the background of the photo.<\/p>\n<p>None of Ruto\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=Queen%20Elizabeth%20(from%3AWilliamsRuto)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile\/100044138484360\/search\/?q=Queen%20Elizabeth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">posts<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/deputypresident.go.ke\/news-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a> mention any meetings with the queen.
