The DCNF provided Robert Graham, the founder of the cybersecurity firm Errata Security, with a copy of the email and its metadata for forensic analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Graham, who has been cited as a cybersecurity expert in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/the-switch\/wp\/2017\/02\/01\/heres-why-your-browser-may-tell-you-the-white-house-website-isnt-secure\/\">The Washington Post<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/53b5271004c14644a749a2cd9ee7c7a2\">Associated Press<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/dejablue-windows-bugs-worm-rdp\/\">Wired<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2019-11-03-first-wild-bluekeep-attack.html\">Engadget<\/a> and other news and technology outlets, told the DCNF that he used a cryptographic signature found in the email\u2019s metadata to validate that an account used by Vadym Pozharsky, an advisor to Burisma\u2019s board of directors, emailed Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In the email, Pozharsky thanked Hunter Biden for \u201cinviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7038808\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7038808\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cybersecurity expert Robert Graham said this email is unquestionably authentic after analyzing its DKIM signature. (Robert Graham)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The New York Post first <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/14\/report-hunter-biden-introduced-joe-burisma-executive\/\">reported<\/a> the email in October, describing it as a \u201csmoking-gun\u201d showing that Hunter Biden had introduced his father to the Burisma executive in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The email was sent less than a year before Joe Biden pressured former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to fire a prosecutor who was reportedly investigating the gas company in return for a $1 billion loan guarantee.<\/p>\n<p>Graham previously told the DCNF that emails sent from Gmail, such as Pozharski\u2019s message to Hunter Biden, can be \u201cabsolutely verified beyond a shadow of a doubt\u201d by testing its contents against the unique DKIM signature found in its metadata.<\/p>\n<p>Graham used the DKIM signature within the email to verify with a private key on Google\u2019s servers that the sender, recipient, subject, date and body of the message that the DCNF obtained from Giuliani were unchanged from when the email was originally sent in April 2015. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/17\/hunter-biden-emails-metadata-rudy-giuliani\/\">(RELATED: Hunter Biden Emails Could Be \u2018Absolutely Verified\u2019 If Rudy Giuliani Released The Metadata, Expert Says)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graham said the only way the email could have been faked is if someone hacked into Google\u2019s servers, found the private key and used it to reverse engineer the email\u2019s DKIM signature.<\/p>\n<p>Email metadata on its own does not provide any indication of whether hacking had anything to with the email\u2019s release, Graham noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, committing criminal hacking doesn\u2019t make true information any less true, so no matter how illegitimately they gathered emails, the contents are provably legitimate,\u201d Graham said.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Biden\u2019s presidential campaign said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/27\/joe-biden-hunter-foreign-business-dealings\/\">statement<\/a> that his schedule indicates that no such meeting as alleged in the email took place. However, the campaign later told Politico that they could not rule out the possibility he had a cursory encounter with the Burisma executive.<\/p>\n<p>The email came from a computer that Hunter Biden reportedly dropped off at a Delaware-based computer repair shop in April 2019. The repair shop owner provided Giuliani a copy of the hard drive after it went unclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden has not denied giving his laptop to the Delaware repair shop. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/18\/hunter-biden-laptop-delaware-repair-shop\/\">(RELATED: Hunter Biden Isn\u2019t Denying He Gave His Laptop To A Delaware Repair Shop)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Giuliani had initially <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/17\/hunter-biden-emails-metadata-rudy-giuliani\/\">refused<\/a> to provide the Daily Caller with a copy of the hard drive in mid-October, saying that questions surrounding the veracity of its contents were \u201cpettifogging nonsense\u201d pushed by the \u201cliberal press.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden campaign did not immediately return a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
