Government data shows it\u2019s also being used to boost foreign state media operations on U.S. soil.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p><strong>By the numbers:\u00a0<\/strong>China leads the way by a large margin, with H-1B visa approvals for state-run outlets such as CCTV, People\u2019s Daily, China Daily and Xinhua.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Without the visa programs, the foreign media outlets would have been pressured to hire American journalists, likely allowing a more accurate coverage of America around the world.<\/p>\n<p>But Axios\u2019 disfavor towards the use of visa-worker journalists is in sharp contrast to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/h1b-visa-approval-rate-tech-biden-immigration-a8f689e8-adae-45c0-a83e-ac8b0c54468b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gentle coverage<\/a> of the Fortune 500\u2019s use of the H-1B to sideline myriad American non-journalist graduates.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The H-1B program is just one of many programs \u2014\u00a0 such as the J-1, L-1, OPT, TN, and EB-3 \u2014 that are used by companies to cut payroll costs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/01\/27\/joe-biden-kills-office-protect-us-graduates-job-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spike share values<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the imported workers are merely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/06\/26\/ex-google-chief-uses-top-tier-immigration-claim-to-sideline-u-s-college-graduates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mid-skill, no-rights, compliant workers<\/a>. They are used by investors and executives to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/03\/23\/investor-demands-for-foreign-workers-imperil-anti-china-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bump outspoken, ambitious American professionals<\/a> out of Fortune 500 careers, sometimes with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/boeing-outsourced-737-max-report-2019-6#:~:text=Bloomberg%27s%20Peter%20Robison%20reported%20on%20June%2028%20that,Indian%20tech%20firms%20HCL%20Technologies%20and%20Cyient%20Ltd.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disastrous results<\/a>. But the visa programs were also used to import more than one million wage-cutting foreigners for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2022\/03\/24\/republican-leaders-push-bill-import-nurses-not-train-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nursing and technician jobs<\/a> sought by American women.<\/p>\n<p>Axios also claimed \u201cCompetition for H-1B visas is intense\u00a0due to a strict cap on the number awarded annually.\u201d Actually, there is no cap on the award of new H-1Bs to universities and non-profits. Also, there is no limit on renewals of the three-year H-1B visa, and there are many alternative visa-worker programs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Disney\u2019s executives stopped advertising on Tucker Carlson\u2019s television show as he repeatedly urged President Donald Trump to shut down their pipeline of H-1B visa workers into the white-collar jobs that would otherwise go to Americans. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2XCb4R5Hqq\">https:\/\/t.co\/2XCb4R5Hqq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1274531375413108736?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 21, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>About 3 million H-1Bs have been imported since 1990.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Many of those visa workers have gone home \u2014 usually with an outsourced U.S. job \u2014 back to low-wage India after learning from skilled Americans how to do the job.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the contract workers have stayed to become citizens \u2014 perhaps 1.2 million of the workers, plus their families. The permanent inflow ensures continued wage-cutting competition for a vast array of Fortune 500 technical and management jobs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Many H-1Bs \u2014 at least 350,000 \u2014 remain working in U.S. jobs long after their first three-year visa has ended.<\/p>\n<p>This massive displacement of the U.S. professional sector has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/29\/bidens-commerce-chief-fights-mayorkas-to-get-jobs-for-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pushed many Americans<\/a> into non-technical jobs. The shift floods the labor market for other careers, such as journalism. The result is that many U.S. graduates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/29\/bidens-commerce-chief-fights-mayorkas-to-get-jobs-for-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">earn less<\/a> \u2014 and also must pay higher prices for apartments and homes.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A group of Senate Republicans has joined Senate Democrats to demand President Joe Biden import more H-2B foreign visa workers to take working-class, blue-collar American jobs. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/znvMnSLh4v\">https:\/\/t.co\/znvMnSLh4v<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1493555835003445254?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 15, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>In March 2020, Breitbart News covered the use of H-1B visa workers in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/03\/18\/chinese-media-use-h-1b-visas-import-journalists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.-based Chinese media<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Chinese media outlets import numerous journalists into the United States via the H-1B program, usually at very low salaries.<\/p>\n<p>The imported visa-workers\u2019 wages are as low as $33,000 per year \u2013 despite the large number of Americans seeking journalist careers \u2013 according to federal data collected by\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/H1B-Visa\/SearchLCA.aspx?JT=editor&#038;O1=Employer&#038;O2=JobTitle&#038;Y=2019&#038;PN=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">MyVisaJobs.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>MyVisaJobs.com\u00a0uses federal data to track job opportunities\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NeilMunroDC\/status\/1230550559733813248?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">for foreign graduates<\/a>\u00a0in the United States. The\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/GreenCard\/SearchAll.aspx?CT=China&#038;Y=2010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">data shows<\/a>\u00a0that employers nationwide nominated 11,153 Chinese-born migrants for green cards in 2019; 12,612 in 2018; 8,603 in 2017; and 7,217 in 2016. Overall, 59,870 Chinese has been nominated for green cards since 2010 by U.S. employers. Nearly all of those requests are approved by the government, after a short delay.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p>The MyVisaJobs data shows the many requests for H-1B workers in 2019, 2018, and 2017 by China-run outlets, as well as by U.S. media companies that hire Chinese workers:<\/p>\n<p>Xinhuanet North America Corporation asked for\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Xinhuanet-North-America\/1394383.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">five H-1Bs<\/a>\u00a0in 2019, at an average wage of $82,400.<\/p>\n<p>Xinhua Book Store USA Corp. sought\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Xinhua-Book-Store\/1313765.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">four H-1Bs<\/a>\u00a0and a green card for one employee who is being paid just $43,000.<\/p>\n<p>Sinovision Inc., asked\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Sinovision-Incorporated\/491618.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">for 68 H-1Bs<\/a>, at a wage between $34,800 and $50,700.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese Information Radio sought\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Chinese-Information-Radio\/109788.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">one H-1B<\/a>\u00a0for an employee to be paid $42,000.<\/p>\n<p>Backchina sought\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Backchina-Llc\/1087109.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">10 workers<\/a>\u00a0at an average of roughly $33,000.<\/p>\n<p>Sino Television Inc., sought\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Sino-Television\/491568.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">seven H-1Bs<\/a>, at an average wage of $33,000.<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Culture Enterprise Inc.,\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Pacific-Culture-Enterprise\/407825.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">asked for 34 H-1Bs<\/a>, at an average wage of roughly $40,000. The company reportedly\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/the-china-press\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">includes<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_China_Press\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">China Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>World Journal Llc. sought\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/World-Journal-Llc\/603324.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">54 H-1Bs<\/a>\u00a0between $35,00 and $62,000. The company produces Chinese-language\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldjournal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">newspapers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ontvtonight.com\/guide\/listings\/channel\/69037698\/kjla-zhong-want-tv.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Zhong Want TV<\/a>\u00a0Inc. sought\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/Visa-Sponsor\/Zhong-Want\/1230184.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">seven H-1Bs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This month, the Department of Homeland Security is expected to provide investors with another 85,000 H-1B work permits. Employers will use many of those permits to hire foreign graduates eager to work long hours, at low pay, in the hope of getting green cards.<\/p>\n<p>So far, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/H1B-Visa\/Search.aspx?Y=2019&#038;CI=1323263\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios Media<\/a> has only sought to hire one H-1B engineer and one reporter, who might be Australian.<\/p>\n<p>But many other U.S. media outlets \u2014 Bloomberg, Buzzfeed, Gannett, Dow Jones, Univision \u2014 import reporters and editors under the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/H1B-Visa\/Search.aspx?JT=reporter&#038;O1=Employer&#038;O2=Job_Title&#038;OC=27&#038;Y=2019&#038;PN=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arts<\/a>\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myvisajobs.com\/H1B-Visa\/SearchLCA.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">category<\/a> of the H-1B program.
