The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Out of the 29 of more than 2,300 text messages released from Meadows\u2019 vast trove of data handed to the Select Committee, not one, the Washington Post conceded, included a direct reference to the sitting justice as the weaponized probe sought to dox a private citizen for petitioning her government. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe messages, which do not directly reference Justice Thomas or the Supreme Court, show for the first time how Ginni Thomas used her access to Trump\u2019s inner circle to promote and seek to guide the president\u2019s strategy to overturn the election results,\u201d the Post reported with the paper adopting Pelosi committee\u2019s framing to indict private political views as a blockbuster scandal.<\/p>\n<p>While the committee has made an <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/01\/20\/only-10-percent-of-j6-committee-subpoenas-relate-to-the-capitol-riot\/\">open poin<\/a>t to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/02\/05\/us\/politics\/january-6-committee.html\">prosecute<\/a> those who publicly sought to cast doubt on the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/29\/7-insane-things-i-just-learned-about-how-u-s-elections-are-rigged\/\">fairness of the 2020 election results<\/a>, the committee\u2019s targeting of Ginni Thomas for privately petitioning government officials on her own marks further escalation of the probe\u2019s assault on civil liberties, and makes Thomas case all the more unique. <\/p>\n<p>CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/03\/28\/politics\/january-6-committee-ginni-thomas\/index.html\">reported<\/a> Monday the committee will now seek an interview with Ginni, who has become the latest to be dragged before lawmakers for exercising dissident views, even in private. But the probe\u2019s latest request is just as much targeted at Ginni, a long-time conservative activist who has never concealed her activism, as it is her husband.<\/p>\n<p>The left\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/02\/17\/washington-post-slurs-best-american-jurist-ever-for-thinking-like-a-white-man\/\">racist disdain<\/a> for Justice Thomas has never been a well-kept secret by a virulent left frustrated by the mere existence of a black conservative, let alone one on the high bench. Attacks on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson\u2019s record on lenient sentencing for child sex crimes are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/29\/kbj-race-senate-hearings-supreme-court\/\">cruel and racist<\/a>. Baseless criticism of Justice Thomas is warranted, however, for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/video\/hypocrite-traitor-georgia-black-lawmakers-133000692.html\">political heresy<\/a>, starting with his own <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/01\/31\/director-of-powerful-new-clarence-thomas-documentary-opens-up-he-just-got-tired-of-having-his-story-distorted\/\">confirmation process<\/a> three decades ago. <\/p>\n<p>Publication of the text messages provoked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/white-house\/clarence-thomas-faces-growing-pressure-step-jan-6-cases-rcna22034\">immediate calls <\/a>for Justice Thomas to recuse himself from any cases related to the Jan. 6 investigation for the crime of his wife\u2019s public political views raising concerns over an election with record mail-in voting and last-minute rule changes. New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/600145-ocasio-cortez-to-clarence-thomas-resign-or-face-impeachment\">demanded<\/a> Justice Thomas resign or face impeachment. <\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/29\/former-clarence-thomas-clerk-judges-are-never-asked-to-recuse-themselves-over-political-views\/\">outlined<\/a> Tuesday in The Federalist by former Thomas Law Clerk Wendy Long, however, judges are never asked to recuse themselves over political views, whether their own or their spouse\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeftists in Congress and the media hyperventilate over every tidbit showing that Justice Thomas\u2019s wife, Ginni, is involved in national conservative politics \u2013 most recently, that she pushed for integrity in the 2020 election,\u201d Long wrote. \u201cThis isn\u2019t news, and it has nothing to do with Justice Thomas\u2019s ability to be a fair and impartial jurist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Long explained judicial recusal is about \u201cmainly financial, legal, personal, or professional interests of the Justice or a family member.\u201d Not personal politics. The strategy of the modern left, however, has been to intimidate the courts into submission to extremist and anti-Constitution politics. Consider the last three nomination battles: Justice Brett Kavanaugh was slandered as a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/10\/04\/12-crazy-accusations-brett-kavanaugh-hilarious-twitter-replies\/\">serial gang rapist<\/a>, Amy Coney Barrett was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/09\/22\/reuters-compares-amy-coney-barretts-faith-group-to-dystopian-series-handmaids-tale\/\">depicted<\/a> as a character in The Handmaid\u2019s Tale, and Stephen Breyer was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/29\/inside-campaign-pressure-justice-stephen-breyer-retire\/\">pressured<\/a> to retire while Democrats were in power to replace him.<\/p>\n<p>Not only are the attacks on Thomas purely political, they\u2019re hypocritical. Will Democrats calling on Justice Thomas to refrain from his official duties as a jurist similarly demand a probe into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi leveraging her position in Congress to <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2021\/07\/08\/house-speaker-nancy-pelosi-husband-paul-big-tech-stocks\/\">rake in millions<\/a>? Will journalists married to people in power recuse themselves from coverage on any issues their spouses conduct even minor work on? Probably not.
