Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., entered the computer&#8217;s contents into the congressional record during the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>FBI Assistant Director for the Cyber Division Bryan Vorndran told the committee that he has &#8220;no background&#8221; on the Hunter Biden laptop investigation and could not confirm whether the laptop was authentic.<\/p>\n<p>In an exchange with Vorndran,\u00a0Gaetz asked about the location of the laptop containing <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/congress\/gop-rep-issa-plans-hunter-biden-laptop-investigation-warns-white-house-not\">evidence<\/a> of the overseas business dealings Hunter Biden pursued while his father was vice president.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sir, I&#8217;m not here to talk about the laptop, I&#8217;m here to talk about the FBI cyber program,&#8221;\u00a0Vorndran responded.<\/p>\n<p>Gaetz pressed again to find out the whereabouts of the laptop.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sir, I don&#8217;t know that answer,&#8221; the FBI cyber official replied.<\/p>\n<p>Vorndran gave similar answers when Gaetz asked about security surrounding the laptop.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Gaetz asked &#8220;whether or not the first family is compromised as a result of the Hunter Biden laptop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sir, as a representative of the FBI cyber program, it&#8217;s not in the realm of my responsibilities to deal with the questions that you&#8217;re asking me,&#8221; he insisted.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about if the bureau had looked into security breaches that could have resulted from the laptop, the assistant FBI director asserted, &#8220;We can do this back and forth for the next couple of minutes. I don&#8217;t have any information about the Hunter Biden laptop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gaetz then motioned to have the contents of Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop, which he had in his possession, into the congressional record.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., initially objected to Gaetz&#8217;s move before the laptop was eventually accepted into the record.<\/p>\n<p>Also on Tuesday, Gaetz moved to <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/congress\/gaetz-seeks-strip-intel-officials-who-called-hunter-biden-laptop-russian\">introduce<\/a> a resolution stripping security\u00a0clearances from the former intelligence officials who claimed that the Hunter Biden laptop was part of a Russian information campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A top-ranking FBI cyber official told the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday he doesn\u2019t know the whereabouts of Hunter Biden&#8217;s infamous laptop, while Rep.
