They were quick to declare Biden was a deliberate \u201cliar\u201d last night on vaccine development. So here we go \u2026&nbsp;Biden said on CNN: \u201cit\u2019s one thing to have the vaccine, which we didn\u2019t have when we came into office, but a vaccinator \u2014 how do you get the vaccine into someone\u2019s arm?\u201d Yep, that\u2019s wrong. Sounds bad. But did he mean it?\u2026 A) Did he say something different elsewhere in the town hall? Yes, just minutes before: &nbsp;\u201cWe came into office, there was only 50 million doses that were available.\u201d That\u2019s a clue he knows the vaccine was created when he became president. B)&nbsp;Is it different than what he said before? Yes, 1\/26: \u201cWe want to give credit to&nbsp;everyone involved in this vaccine effort and the prior administration&nbsp;and the science community and the medical sphere&nbsp;\u2014&nbsp;for getting the program off the ground.&nbsp; And that credit is absolutely due.\u201d&nbsp;That\u2019s another clue. So the odds are this is a flub, not a deliberate falsehood. He contradicts what he said just moments earlier and what he has said in the past. As fact checkers, we look for patterns and context \u2026. I know it\u2019s fun to snip a clip and act outraged on social media. But what\u2019s more telling is if a politician over and over says the same falsehood, day after day, no matter how often he or she has been fact-checked. I&#8217;m looking into that claim (and a bunch of other claims Biden made tonight), but he clearly wasn&#8217;t trying to claim the vaccine did not exist at all under Trump. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2EtKDWyR7o\">https:\/\/t.co\/2EtKDWyR7o<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daniel Dale (@ddale8) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ddale8\/status\/1361876593921122305?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 17, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Author Ryan Girdusky simply reacted: \u201cYou are such a freaking hack.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">You are such a freaking hack. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gpSEJJfEYx\">https:\/\/t.co\/gpSEJJfEYx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ryan James Girdusky (@RyanGirdusky) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RyanGirdusky\/status\/1362025757820805121?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 17, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During the same town hall event, Biden stoked outrage on social media when he referred to the human rights violations against the Uyghur population in China as a \u201cdifferent norm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you know anything about Chinese history, it has always been, the time when China has been victimized by the outer world is when they haven\u2019t been unified at home,\u201d Biden said, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/02\/17\/biden-says-uighur-genocide-is-part-of-chinas-different-norms\/\">according<\/a> to The New York Post. \u201cSo the central \u2014 well, vastly overstated \u2014 the central principle of Xi Jinping is that there must be a united, tightly-controlled China.
