There are many aspects that are going on daily to continue to move the security relationship forward in a positive way to provide deterrence, prevent war, and maintain peace and stability within the region,\u201d U.S. Navy Admiral John C. Aquilino, the commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacom.mil\/Media\/News\/News-Article-View\/Article\/2977660\/b-2-conducts-mission-in-indo-pacific-integrates-with-us-royal-australian-air-fo\/\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Aquilino assumed command of INDOPACOM\u2014arguably the most important combatant command in the Department of Defense\u2014nearly a year ago.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to be able to join together quickly, and operate immediately. We will be ready to respond and to fight and to win, and we can only do that together. This is about preventing conflict, but if deterrence fails, we\u2019re ready,\u201d Admiral Aquilino\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacom.mil\/Media\/News\/News-Article-View\/Article\/2977657\/commander-usindopacom-cements-the-importance-of-us-australian-alliance\/\">added<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The B-2 Spirit Is Special\u00a0<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.military.com\/equipment\/b-2-spirit\">B-2 Spirit<\/a>\u00a0can carry both conventional and nuclear munitions and is one of the most capable aircraft in the U.S. Air Force\u2019s arsenal. Its operational range (intercontinental) and payload capacity (40,000 pounds) make it a great tool for strategic deterrence.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20108\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-20108\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">B-2 Bomber. Image Credit: Creative Commons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s our job to get out and support our Combatant Commanders and we\u2019re always excited to be in the Indo-Pacific,\u201d Conant said. \u201cThe main pillar of the National Defense Strategy is building relationships with our allies and partners because warfighting is a team sport, and our network of alliances and partnerships remains the backbone of global security,\u201d U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Conant, the commanding officer of the 393rd Bomb Squadron, said.\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Important Alliance\u00a0<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>The U.S.-Australia alliance is one of the most important ones for the U.S. military. Despite\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2022\/03\/25\/russia-reinforcements-georgia-ukraine\/?itid=mr_national%20security_4\">the happenings in Eastern Europe<\/a>, China remains the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/media-telecom\/us-fcc-adds-ao-kaspersky-lab-china-telecom-firms-national-security-threat-list-2022-03-25\/\">primary threat<\/a>\u00a0to U.S. national security.\n<\/p>\n<p>Ever since the Second World War, Australia has been a steadfast U.S. ally. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, Australia was one of the first countries alongside the United Kingdom and Canada to commit troops to Afghanistan.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our most important relationship that we have in the Indo-Pacific region.
