On Monday she told Judge Kyle S. Cohen that she had dropped out of school and was suffering nightmares.<\/p>\n<p>Her attorney, Lanny Davis, stated, \u201cWhat she loves \u00a0\u2014 what she needs more than anything as a teenager \u2014 is to be in school with her friends playing soccer. \u2026 Yet the fear proven is that she stayed home, because she feared.\u201d The alleged stalker\u2019s attorney countered that his client had only tried to help Majury, and never threatened her.<\/p>\n<p>In February, Davis <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/she-is-genuinely-afraid-for-her-safety-teenage-tiktok-star-goes-to-court-for-protection-against-another-alleged-stalker\/\">asserted<\/a>, \u201cShe is genuinely afraid for her safety. It is a shame that it too often seems it takes a tragedy for everyone to ask: Why didn\u2019t we act sooner?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSocial media can connect people of all walks of life and create a sense of community,\u201d a statement from Ava said. \u201cBut I\u2019m telling my story so that young people and parents are also aware of the dangers of social media,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/florida-tiktok-star-stalker\">Fox News<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>Ava also said, \u201cI could never have imagined my innocent posts would result in a stranger showing up at my front door with a shotgun\u2026I urge young people and parents to immediately report any threat or signal of violence, and not wait until it\u2019s too late.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Cohen ruled that Majury\u2019s lawyers had not presented enough evidence to allow him to grant Ava Majury an injunction for protection against stalking.<\/p>\n<p>Majury was 14 with viral videos showing her singing, dancing or pulling pranks, when she <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/ex-cop-dad-of-14-year-old-tiktok-star-shoots-kills-stalker-armed-with-shotgun-goes-free-under-floridas-stand-your-ground-law\/\">noticed in early 2020<\/a> that one of her followers, Eric Rohan Justin, 18, of Ellicott City, Md., was becoming obsessed with her, messaging her in Snapchat and on Instagram, and even joining online games she played with her brothers,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/02\/17\/us\/politics\/tiktok-ava-majury.html\">The New York Times<\/a>\u00a0reported in a lengthy piece about the story. Ava initially responded to Justin as she did with other fans, but learned he was buying her personal information, including her cellphone number, from her friends in New Jersey and Florida. He then would call or text her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAva\u2019s parents allowed her to sell Mr. Justin a couple of selfies that she had already posted to Snapchat,\u201d The Times noted, continuing:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>After that, Mr. Justin messaged Ava on Venmo with a breakdown of what he would pay for \u201cbooty pics\u201d and photos of her feet, \u201cstuff that a 14-year-old shouldn\u2019t be sending,\u201d she said. She blocked him on all her accounts. In Venmo messages viewed by The Times, Mr. Justin pleaded with her to unblock him, sending $159.18, then $100, and finally $368.50 with the message, \u201csorry this is all I have left i\u2019m broke.\u201d Mr. Majury said he texted Mr. Justin\u2019s cellphone, told him that Ava was a minor, and demanded that he stop contacting her.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On July 10, 2020, Justin came to the Majury\u2019s home in Naples, Florida, armed with a shotgun, which he used to blow open the front door before the shotgun jammed. That prompted Ava\u2019s father, Rob Majury, a retired police lieutenant, to give chase but he fell, gashing his knee, as Justin fled.
