Jane\u201d movie.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cJada, I love ya,\u201d Rock said. \u201cG.I. Jane 2 movie, can\u2019t wait to see it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Smith then got up from his seat and struck Rock in the face.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOh wow, wow. Will Smith just smacked the s*** outta me,\u201d Rock said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Smith then repeatedly shouted, \u201cKeep my wife\u2019s name out your f***ing mouth!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWow, dude,\u201d Rock replied. \u201cIt was a G.I. Jane joke.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Later in the show, Smith accepted his first Oscar ever for Best Actor for his role in the film \u201cKing Richard.\u201d During his acceptance speech, he apologized to the Academy and to the other nominees, but didn\u2019t appear to apologize to Rock.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to apologize to the Academy,\u201d Smith said. \u201cI want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment, and I\u2019m not \u2014 I\u2019m not crying for winning an award. It\u2019s not about winning an award for me. It\u2019s about being able to shine a light on all of the people. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArt imitates life,\u201d he added. \u201cI looked like the crazy father just like they said.
