People on the hard left? Absolutely not. They just cancel and censor, and that\u2019s why I\u2019m happy to be given a chance to state my position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>Dershowitz said \u201ccontext\u201d matters in defining \u201cwoman\u201d and in distinguishing between the two sexes:<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>I know what a woman is. I married one. I have one as a daughter, but it all depends on context. W<\/span><span>hen somebody who was born a man and transitioned to a woman wants to use the women\u2019s room, t<\/span><span>hat\u2019s one context. When a male athlete transitions and becomes a female athlete and wants to compete, that\u2019s a different context. When somebody wants to get into a woman\u2019s college \u2014 there are still a bunch of them left \u2014 and the school says, \u2018No, it\u2019s only open to women, and you were born a man,\u2019 that\u2019s a different context.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Dershowitz held that modern technologies complicate the binary distinction between men and women:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>W<\/span><span>e have techniques \u2014 surgical techniques, biological techniques, pharmaceutical techniques \u2014 for eliminating what used to be a pretty sharp distinction between a male and a female.
