The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report,\u201d said a full statement from the Los Angeles Police Department, Variety <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/chris-rock-police-report-will-smith-slap-oscars-1235216542\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Full Uncensored video of Will Smith\u2019s altercation with Chris Rock at the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Oscars?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Oscars<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/cGQ3plSEiz\">pic.twitter.com\/cGQ3plSEiz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Movies (@moreoffilms) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/moreoffilms\/status\/1508277114398978048?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 28, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>What\u2019s odd about the L.A. police\u2019s decision is that millions of people saw a slap take place live on camera. Police sometimes are forced to weigh different accounts, but in this case, it was clear what happened \u2014 on tape, even.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, no security officials appeared on stage. Odder still was that after the incident, Smith wasn\u2019t escorted from the theater, instead simply returning to his seat \u2014 and later taking the stage again after winning an award for best actor. Hollywood gave him a standing ovation.<\/p>\n<p>Rock was on the stage Sunday night, making jokes about celebrities in the star-studded theater. Then he targeted Pinkett Smith. \u201cJada, I love you, G.I. Jane 2, can\u2019t wait to see it. All right?\u201d Rock says. The joke was a reference to a movie that starred Demi Moore as a Navy lieutenant in which the actress sports a shaved head. Jada Pinkett Smith, too, has a shaved head because she suffers from alopecia.<\/p>\n<p>While she rolls her eyes a bit and doesn\u2019t laugh, Smith laughs, with a big smile on his face. \u201cThat was a nice one, OK?\u201d Rock says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m out here \u2013\u201d Rock then says before breaking off. \u201cUh oh. Richard?\u201d he says, referring to Will Smith\u2019s part playing the father of Serena and Venus Williams\u2019 father in \u201cKing Richard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith quickly walked up the stage and took a swipe at Rock, not with a fist but an open hand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh wow,\u201d Rock said. \u201cWow. Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me,\u201d he said with a smile.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke,\u201d Rock added before continuing with the show.<\/p>\n<p>The camera then cuts to Will Smith, by now back in his seat.
