But a new analysis shows they\u2019re being as brazen as ever by not updating old articles challenging the credibility of the story.<\/p>\n<p>Leftist fact-checkers like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.factcheck.org\/2020\/10\/trump-revives-false-narrative-on-biden-and-ukraine\/\">FactCheck.org<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/article\/2020\/oct\/15\/look-behind-ny-post-headline-about-joe-biden-and-u\/\">PolitiFact<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/leadstories.com\/hoax-alert\/2020\/11\/fact-check-what-dkim-verification-of-Hunter-Biden-email-proves-and-what-it-doesn%27t.html\">Lead Stories<\/a> published stories within the past two years that tried to take down the <em>New York Post<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\">bombshell<\/a>. The outlets did this by either referring to the story as coming from \u201cquestionable sources;\u201d labeling the emails as \u201cunverified\u201d or outright doubting their authenticity. <em>The Times <\/em>reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/16\/us\/politics\/hunter-biden-tax-bill-investigation.html\">that emails<\/a> from a cache discovered on Hunter Biden\u2019s abandoned laptop in Delaware \u201cwere authenticated by people familiar with them\u201d and tied the documents to an ongoing federal investigation. It has been 12\u00a0days since <em>The Times <\/em>released its report on the Biden laptop, and FactCheck.org, PolitiFact and LeadStories still haven&#8217;t updated certain\u00a0articles on the matter. All three outlets are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/journalismproject\/programs\/third-party-fact-checking\/partner-map\">fact-checking partners<\/a> with liberal Big Tech giant Meta, which is the parent company of both Facebook and Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>FactCheck.org was arguably the worst of the three in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.factcheck.org\/2020\/10\/trump-revives-false-narrative-on-biden-and-ukraine\/\">story<\/a> headlined, \u201cTrump Revives False Narrative on Biden and Ukraine.\u201d The outlet castigated former President Donald Trump for citing the<em> Post <\/em>\u201cto revive his widely discredited claim that Biden \u2018went to Ukraine and threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid if they did not fire the prosecutor that was investigating his son and the company that his son worked for.\u2019\u201d FactCheck.org ripped Trump for citing \u201c<strong>unverified emails that were allegedly obtained in a bizarre way by his own lawyer.\u201d <\/strong>[Emphasis added.]\n<p>In addition, the phony fact-check spun that this wasn\u2019t the first time Trump was cited \u201cusing material obtained from <strong>questionable sources<\/strong>.\u201d It even tried to smear the whole story as part of an elaborate scheme by former New York City Mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/rudygiulianics.com\/\">Rudy Giuliani<\/a> working with foreign contacts \u201cto obtain information damaging to Biden.\u201d Now that <em>The Times<\/em> verified the \u201cunverified emails,\u201d FactCheck.org still has yet to update its story saying otherwise. [Emphasis added.]\n<p>Lead Stories in particular, <a href=\"https:\/\/leadstories.com\/hoax-alert\/2020\/11\/fact-check-what-dkim-verification-of-Hunter-Biden-email-proves-and-what-it-doesn&#039;t.html\">targeted<\/a> an \u201cexclusive\u201d Daily Caller <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/29\/cybersecurity-expert-authenticates-hunter-biden-burisma-email\/\">story<\/a> on one of the laptop emails considered to be the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\">smoking gun<\/a>\u201d in the <em>Post <\/em>story.\u00a0 The Daily Caller said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DailyCaller\/status\/1322003912275251203?s=20&#038;t=lR5w3sg22SVXnoG9jPz7fA\">tweet<\/a> of its story that a cybersecurity expert concluded the \u201c@nypost&#8217;s smoking gun April 2015 Hunter Biden email from a Burisma executive discussing an introduction to then-Vice President Joe Biden <strong>is 100% authentic.\u201d <\/strong>Specifically<strong>, <\/strong>the expert that the Daily Caller cited used a \u201ccryptographic signature [<strong>DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)] <\/strong>\u00a0found in the email\u2019s metadata\u201d to verify Burisma advisor Vadym Pozharskyi thanking Hunter for \u201c<strong>\u2018inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together.<\/strong>\u2019\u201d Lead Stories tried to swat the story down in a fact-check: \u201c<strong>That&#8217;s a stretch: DKIM can validate who sent an email and what text and other content was included. But it does not prove if the content consists of true statements<\/strong>.\u201d According to Proofpoint, DKIM <a href=\"https:\/\/www.proofpoint.com\/us\/threat-reference\/dkim#:~:text=DKIM%20(DomainKeys%20Identified%20Mail)%20is,made%20possible%20through%20cryptographic%20authentication.\">is<\/a> a \u201cprotocol that allows an organization to take responsibility for transmitting a message by signing it in a way that mailbox providers can verify.&#8221; [Emphasis added.]\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p>EXCLUSIVE: A cybersecurity expert told us that the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@nypost<\/a>&#8216;s smoking gun April 2015 Hunter Biden email from a Burisma executive discussing an introduction to then-Vice President Joe Biden is 100% authentic<\/p>\n<p>via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AndrewKerrNC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@AndrewKerrNC<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SdYKwZVnnB\">https:\/\/t.co\/SdYKwZVnnB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DailyCaller\/status\/1322003912275251203?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 30, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here\u2019s the problem: Not only did <em>The Times <\/em>verify the contents of the emails, but even <em>Politico<\/em>\u2019s national political correspondent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/staff\/ben-schreckinger\">Ben Schreckinger<\/a> specifically <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/independent-source-confirms-authenticity-damning-124601909.html\">verified<\/a> the \u201csmoking gun\u201d email in September 2021. \u201cA person who had independent access to Hunter Biden\u2019s emails confirmed he did receive a 2015 email from a Ukrainian businessman thanking him for the chance to meet Joe Biden,\u201d <em>Politico<\/em> Playbook<em> <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/pj-gladnick\/2021\/09\/22\/politico-confirms-hunter-biden-laptop-story-they-previously-slammed\">reported<\/a>.<em> <\/em>The <em>New York Post <\/em>editorial board \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/09\/21\/the-hunter-biden-laptop-is-confirmed-color-us-shocked\/\">citing<\/a> Schreckinger\u2019s verification of two of the\u00a0 laptop emails \u2014 slammed how this was the \u201cperfect example of how Democrats weaponize \u2018fact checkers\u2019 to deflect criticism and enlist social media to censor articles. Nothing to see here!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"image-blog_image_100_ img-fluid blog-img\" data-insert-class=\"image-blog_image_100_\" data-insert-type=\"image\" height=\"447\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/NYTHunterBiden.png\" width=\"930\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Lead Stories fact-check claimed the cybersecurity expert\u2019s verification \u201cdoesn&#8217;t tell the whole story.\u201d Lead Stories even alleged that the email addresses appearing to belong to Hunter and the Burisma advisor connected to the emails in question could be fake:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n[The cybersecurity expert\u2019s analysis] <strong>does not verify that the accounts themselves are not fake &#8212; nor does it show who controlled the accounts at the time in question.<\/strong> In theory, someone claiming to be Pozharskyi could have sent the email.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>PolitiFact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/article\/2020\/oct\/15\/look-behind-ny-post-headline-about-joe-biden-and-u\/\">dismissed<\/a> the emails by claiming it wasn\u2019t able to \u201cverify\u201d them in an Oct. 15, 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/article\/2020\/oct\/15\/look-behind-ny-post-headline-about-joe-biden-and-u\/\">story<\/a>. The outlet also tried to gaslight readers on the \u201csmoking gun\u201d email between Hunter and the Burisma advisor by accusing the <em>Post <\/em>of shoddy work:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>None of the emails included with the article, however, point to a meeting having taken place.
