Trump because \u2014 as Biden saw it \u2014 he told the truth and was the \u201cmost qualified\u201d person for the presidency.<\/p>\n<p>His first 14 months in office as president of the United States would prove that Biden was correct on only one of those claims \u2014 he is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/joe-biden-2020-gaffe-machine-most-qualified-president-running-donald-trump-1243122\">gaffe machine<\/a>, but his record does not show that he is qualified nor that he tells the truth.<\/p>\n<p>While Biden\u2019s gaffes typically suggest subtle racism, insensitivity, or downright ignorance, his faux pas in Europe this past week could turn out to be far more dangerous. His statements regarding chemical weapons, sending troops to Europe, and alluding to regime change in Russia threw the world into brief tailspins as he appeared to be announcing a new escalation in Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine with each comment.<\/p>\n<p>His statements left even the casual viewer of foreign affairs to believe the U.S. was on the precipice of engaging in World War III. Each time, his allies in the media and handlers in the White House were quickly dispatched to attempt to clarify his comments.<\/p>\n<p>Considering there are three more years of this man\u2019s presidency \u2014 and Biden caused this much calamity in a mere three days \u2014 the obvious conclusion, then, is that the president\u2019s statements are only going to continue. This will undoubtedly harm America\u2019s reputation, create confusion, and \u2014 God-forbid \u2014 endanger U.S. citizens and our allies by actually starting World War III.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Biden told reporters that if Russia were to use chemical weapons \u201cit would trigger a response in-kind.\u201d This led many to believe that the U.S. commander-in-chief was saying that NATO or the U.S. would use chemical weapons on Russia. By Friday evening, Biden\u2019s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan trotted out to set the record straight, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-in-kind-chemical-weapons-no-intention-jake-sullivan\">according<\/a> to Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSullivan said that meant \u2018we\u2019ll respond accordingly\u2019 and that Russia would pay a \u2018severe price,&#8217;\u201d Fox reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will collect the form and nature of our response based on the nature of the action Russia takes,\u201d Sullivan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-in-kind-chemical-weapons-no-intention-jake-sullivan\">said<\/a>. \u201cAnd we\u2019ll do so in coordination with our allies. And I won\u2019t go beyond that other than to say the United States has no intention of using chemical weapons, period, under any circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFair enough,\u201d one might be saying. \u201cIt could have been a simple misunderstanding that was clarified by the Biden team. No big deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But then on Friday, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/watch-biden-appears-to-tell-u-s-troops-they-are-going-to-ukraine\">reported<\/a> that Biden told U.S. troops stationed in Europe that they would be seeing acts of heroism and bravery on the ground in Ukraine:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cYou know, with the Ukrainian people, Ukrainian people have a lot of backbone, they have a lot of guts and I\u2019m sure you\u2019re observing it,\u201d Biden said. \u201cAnd you\u2019re gonna see when you\u2019re there, and some of you have been there. You\u2019re gonna see, you\u2019re gonna see women, young people standing, standing in the middle, in front of a da<\/em><em>mn tank, just saying I\u2019m not leaving. I\u2019m holding my ground. They\u2019re incredible. But they take a lot of inspiration from us.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>That comment gave the entire world, and undoubtedly those troops in the room, the impression that the U.S. would be sending American soldiers into the war-torn nation. Yet again, a White House spokesperson had to rectify the situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president has been clear we are not sending U.S. troops to Ukraine and there is no change in that position,\u201d the administration said in response to media inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>This was now the second time in as many days that Biden had stuck his foot in his mouth while supposedly in Europe to try to rally NATO allies and promote peace.<\/p>\n<p>But then on Saturday, Biden made a comment that was \u201cthe granddaddy of them all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the end of a 27-minute speech in Poland that was meant to rally defenders of democracy around the globe, Biden bluntly stated, \u201cFor God\u2019s sakes, this man cannot remain in power\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/white-house-rushes-to-clean-up-disastrous-remarks-biden-made-about-putin-during-speech\">reference<\/a> to Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>And for the third \u2014 but most likely not the last time \u2014 White House officials raced to explain away Biden\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President\u2019s point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region,\u201d a White House official <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DanLamothe\/status\/1507855608812392454?s=20&#038;t=0xhf1hu8hCVaJKPKpjwGRA\">apparently<\/a> blasted out to the media far and wide, as nearly every D.C. reporter relayed the message on Twitter on Saturday. \u201cHe was not discussing Putin\u2019s power in Russia, or regime change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By the third time they had to correct the U.S. president, the White House\u2019s excuse seemed pretty weak.<\/p>\n<p>As WMAL\u2019s Vince Coglianese put it, \u201cEvery White House statement: Anything Biden ad libs doesn\u2019t count.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Every White House statement: Anything Biden ad libs doesn\u2019t count<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Vince Coglianese (@VinceCoglianese) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VinceCoglianese\/status\/1507796214443655174?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 26, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If that weren\u2019t enough, consider that Biden allies in the media also understood the president was calling for regime change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn an otherwise powerful speech on Ukraine, and in a so far very measured one-month response to the invasion, this seems to be Biden\u2019s first major misstep,\u201d MSNBC\u2019s Medhi Hasan tweeted. \u201cGoing down the \u2018calling for regime change\u2019 route is a potentially very dangerous move. On the campaign trail, there weren\u2019t any real-world consequences, besides losing some votes, when Biden told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EwqkpwV8j_A\">an Indian voter<\/a> \u201cyou cannot go to a 7-Eleven or Dunkin\u2019 Donuts\u201d in his home state of Delaware without having \u201ca slight Indian accent\u201d or when he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/03\/10\/joe-biden-told-an-auto-worker-youre-full-of-shit-during-a-tense-argument-over-guns.html\">told<\/a> a voter that he is \u201cfull of sh*t\u201d for asking about Biden\u2019s second Amendment policies.<\/p>\n<p>Biden is now speaking on the world stage and his words carry greater weight.<\/p>\n<p>Putin, a man who controls his country\u2019s own nuclear arsenal, is listening.<\/p>\n<p>If he were to take the president at his word, as Lieu advises, then based on the past week, Putin might be thinking that the U.S. is considering using chemical weapons, that American troops are joining the fight, and that official U.S. policy is to force regime change in Russia, directly threatening his seat of power.<\/p>\n<p>From that lens, does that imbue much confidence in Biden\u2019s Europe trip to bring an end to the war in Ukraine?<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/joe-biden-2020-gaffe-machine-most-qualified-president-running-donald-trump-1243122\">said<\/a>, \u201cI am a gaffe machine, but my God, what a wonderful thing compared to a guy who can\u2019t tell the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/meads-happy-st-patricks-day-except-to-joe-biden-the-phony-irishman\">overed by this author before<\/a>, Biden has had a hard time telling the truth on nearly every issue \u2014 gas, illegal immigration, inflation, and Russia\u2019s decision to invade Ukraine.
