Vance, a Republican running for Ohio\u2019s U.S. Senate seat, has\u00a0dominated in the last three post-debate straw polls with\u00a0attendees of\u00a0Ohio\u2019s Republican Senate primary forums.<\/p>\n<p>Vance, who stated that he has a \u201cstrong conviction to always defend life,\u201d won the latest post-debate straw poll with the\u00a0Greater Toledo\u2019s Right to Life\u00a0attendees. The straw poll following the debate showed Vance with\u00a041 votes, with is six votes over\u00a0Josh Mandel\u2019s 35 votes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>For the other candidates: Mark Pukita garnered 30 votes,\u00a0Mike Gibbons received\u00a019 votes, and\u00a0Jane Timken\u00a0received 14 votes in the post-debate straw poll.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the poll, Vance released a statement saying,\u00a0\u201cAs the 100 percent pro-life candidate, I am proud to earn the support of those in attendance at today\u2019s debate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have and always will staunchly support and defend our most vulnerable. Our society is slipping into a disgusting reality that views life and children as inconveniences,\u201d Vance continued. \u201cWhen elected to the U.S. Senate, I will implement measures to protect life and support our children and families with pro-family policies to one day end abortion in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Vance also won the previous two post-debate straw polls.<\/p>\n<p>In the\u00a0Republican Senate primary forum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/19\/j-d-vance-dominates-straw-poll-after-contentious-ohio-debate\/\">hosted<\/a> by\u00a0FreedomWorks \u2014 where\u00a0Mandel and Gibbons had a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/18\/chaos-in-ohio-gop-senate-debate-gibbons-mandel-in-heated-altercation-as-vance-berates-them-for-conduct-unbecoming\/\">heated face-to-face altercation<\/a> \u2013, Vance received\u00a043.1 percent of the votes in the straw poll from the attendees, a 20-point lead from the closest contender.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0next closest Republican\u00a0candidate was\u00a0Timken with\u00a0only 20.7 percent, Gibbons with\u00a016.1 percent,\u00a0Dolan with\u00a012.3 percent, and\u00a0Mandel with\u00a04.6 percent. There was also\u00a03.3 percent of attendees who picked \u201cother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the other debate, live-streamed\u00a0by Nexstar stations around Ohio, NBC4 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc4i.com\/news\/your-local-election-hq\/republican-u-s-senate-primary-debate\/?utm_medium=email_hf&#038;utm_source=et_277_na&#038;utm_campaign=20220325_jd-undefeated-debate-winner_taylorvankirk_jdvance&#038;utm_content=press-release_cpyrs_84910#\/questions\/\">conducted<\/a> a poll that showed Vance with a majority (51 percent) of the vote.<\/p>\n<p>The other four candidates in the debate were Dolan with 25 percent, Gibbons with 13 percent of the vote, Mandel with six percent of the vote, and\u00a0Timken with only five percent.<\/p>\n<p>The Ohio Senate primary election is set to take place on May 3.<\/p>\n<p><i>Jacob Bliss is a reporter for Breitbart News.
