Moreover, 32% of all consumers expected their overall financial position to worsen in the year ahead, the highest recorded level since the surveys started in the mid-1940s,\u201d said Richard Curtin, the chief economist of the survey.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Consumer sentiment has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/03\/25\/consumer-sentiment-sinks-as-hope-crashes-and-inflation-expectations-hit-four-decade-high\/\">declined sharply<\/a> in Biden\u2019s first year in office, with the University of Michigan measure dropping 30 percent from a year ago.
