She pointed to the \u201cimmensely strong job market\u201d and \u201cstrong\u201d consumer spending.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Host Becky Quick asked, \u201cIs there any sign of weakness anywhere in this economy?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI honestly don\u2019t see it,\u201d Yellen replied. \u201cYou know, we have an immensely strong job market. Growth over the last year has been extraordinary. Job creation remains very high. When you look at the balance sheet of the typical American family, it is in very good shape. Consumer spending is strong. And tax revenues have, frankly, been surprising to the upside, you know, helping us in our plan to reduce deficits. We\u2019ll be reducing the budget shortly. So, I see a lot of strength in the American economy. Inflation is high, and, you know, the Fed certainly has a role to play there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got a good, strong U.S. economy,\u201d she added. \u201cWe\u2019re a net exporter of oil.
