Ron DeSantis (R.) is expected to sign in the coming days, stops schools from teaching kindergartners through third graders about &#8220;sexual orientation or gender identity&#8221; in &#8220;a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>National and state Democrats, along with many mainstream media sources and large companies, have denounced the bill, with President Joe Biden calling it &#8220;hateful.&#8221; DeSantis last week <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/beastmode-desantis-dunks-on-disney\/\">slammed<\/a> Disney and other &#8220;woke corporations&#8221; that have criticized the bill even as they take in money from the Chinese Communist Party.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In Florida, our policy&#8217;s going to be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not on the musing of woke corporations,&#8221; DeSantis said.<\/p>\n<p>The Florida poll is in line with national polls on the bill. A majority of voters support &#8220;banning the teaching of sexual orientation and gender identity from kindergarten through third grade,&#8221; a <i>Politico<\/i>\/Morning Consult poll <a href=\"https:\/\/morningconsult.com\/2022\/03\/16\/florida-desantis-dont-say-gay-bill-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found<\/a>.
