Yes. An alcoholic. I\u2019ve been alcohol free since January 1, 2020,\u201d Coulier <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CbfWR7Yu9av\/\"><span>posted<\/span><\/a><span> to his 1.2 million Instagram followers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhen I drank, I was the life of the party,\u201d the actor continued. \u201cI could make people laugh until they fell down. In this picture I was the one who fell down. Not because I was playing hockey or doing the things I love \u2013 like chopping wood or doing construction, golfing, fishing or flying airplanes. I was hammered and fell, going up some stairs made of stone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The caption was accompanied by a photo of Coulier, 62, with a bloodied face.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cNo one loved having \u2018beers with the boys\u2019 after playing hockey or a round of golf more than me. I was always the \u201cfinal final\u201d guy in the room. The 8 hours of drinking, laughter and funny stupidity was followed by two days of feeling like a bowl of dog mess. I loved booze, but it didn\u2019t love me back. I decided to make a decision for my own well-being, my family and for those around me who I love so dearly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CbfWR7Yu9av\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Coulier is best-known for playing Joey Gladstone on the ABC sitcom \u201cFull House\u201d from 1987 to 1995. The character was always the comic relief on the show, with a goofy, silly sense of humor. The actor also participated in the Netflix spinoff \u201cFuller House,\u201d which ran from 2016 to 2020. He did voice work for animated TV shows such as \u201cRobot Chicken\u201d and \u201cAmerican Dad.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the post, Coulier went on to discuss how his wife, Melissa, stuck by his side through some of the biggest challenges on his path to sobriety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was supported by @melissacoulier and friends who had already made the journey,\u201d Coulier wrote. \u201cThe psychological and physical transformation has been amazing. The sky is more blue, my heart is no longer closed, and I enjoy making people laugh until they fall down more than ever before. Thank you, Melissa, for being by my side. I love you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The \u201cFull House\u201d alum got lots of love and support from friends and fans for sharing such personal details of his journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFull House\u201d co-star John Stamos commented on the post, \u201cProud of you brother!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Candace Cameron Bure, another \u201cFull House\u201d co-star, shared similar sentiments. \u201cLove you and always proud of you,\u201d she wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Coulier\u2019s wife Melissa also sent a message of support. \u201cSO proud of you,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI love you and your strength so much!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Enter for the chance to hang out with Gina Carano at the premiere of her new Daily Wire movie, Terror on the Prairie!
