Thomas was reportedly transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. There have been mixed reports as to her age, from 58 to 61.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Mary Jane Thomas, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HankJr?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HankJr<\/a>\u2018s wife, was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HV7Y3gg8Pb\">https:\/\/t.co\/HV7Y3gg8Pb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Taste of Country (@TasteOfCountry) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TasteOfCountry\/status\/1506718123868762120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 23, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/5-hank-williams-jr-classics-that-would-be-canceled-today\">Williams<\/a> and Thomas\u2019 son Sam released a statement following her death, calling her a \u201cbeautiful soul\u201d as he shared how much he will miss his \u201cdear mama,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/country\/hank-williams-jr-wife-mary-jane-dead\/\">reported<\/a> People magazine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy dear Mama Mary Jane was a beautiful soul who forever affected everyone who knew her,\u201d Sam explained. \u201cShe had a smile and presence that lit up every room and she never met a stranger she didn\u2019t befriend. Her spirit was gentle and giving. She could take down a ten-point buck and fix dinner for her grandchildren at the same time! Now she gets to radiate from above with my sister Katherine Diana right by her side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe grew up competing in baton and cheerleading and was one of Hawaiian Tropic\u2019s top models,\u201d he added about his mom. \u201cMy father fell in love with the Daytona Beach beauty the minute he set eyes on her in the early \u201980s. They went on to live the most powerful love story of travel and hunting and raising a family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is survived by my father, her two parents Ramona and Bill, her brother Andy, her sister Angela, myself and her three grandchildren: Beau Weston, Tennyson Hiram and Audrey Jane,\u201d the \u201cFamily Traditions\u201d hitmaker\u2019s son continued. \u201cRest in peace Mama, I will always be the son of Mary Jane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams\u2019 daughter Katherine died in a car crash in 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/country\/hank-williams-jr-daughter-killed-car-crash\/\">reported<\/a> previously by the outlet. She was 27.<\/p>\n<p>Hank and Thomas met at one of his concerts in 1985. They would tie the knot five years later in 1990 and were together until her death.
