What did you ask you and what did you tell him?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Brooks said, \u201cHe always brings up, we\u2019ve got to rescind the election. We\u2019ve got to take Joe Biden out and put me in now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lindenberg said, \u201cHe still says that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brooks said, \u201cYes. And \u2018I\u2019m going \u2018Mr. President I\u2019m an attorney, I\u2019ve read the law and I\u2019ve read the Constitution, I know it.\u2019 I say, \u2018Mr. President, you can\u2019t do that. It\u2019s unconstitutional.\u2019 And given a choice between Donald Trump, who I respect \u2014 he had a lot of great policies while he was president \u2014 and the United States Constitution, I am always going to choose the Constitution, because that\u2019s what my oath of office is to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cI knew when I gave him straight-shooting legal advice, it would perturb him because it was not what he wanted to hear and it would put my endorsement at risk.
