Hukill Financial Literacy Act \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2022\/1054\/?Tab=VoteHistory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passed the<\/a> Florida House unanimously by a vote count of 117-0 and did the same in the state Senate with a 39-0 vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinancial literacy is an important life skill for a student to have,\u201d said DeSantis in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2022\/03\/22\/governor-ron-desantis-signs-financial-literacy-bill-to-support-floridas-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announcing<\/a> the bill\u2019s signing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnsuring our students have the skills to manage their finances and perhaps one day own a business will pay dividends for our state,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The education requirement will go into effect for the 2023-2024 school year and will provide students instruction on managing debt, handling bank accounts, and navigating credit scores and taxes.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Florida Gov.
