To date, the fence has not been constructed, and a public notice published in the March 15 edition of the Gazette appears to explain why,\u201d it added, citing the pending variance request.<\/p>\n<p>The application\u2019s plans include a 4-foot-tall stone wall along the front of the house, as well as \u201ca 10-foot-tall fence with stone columns along the sides and a 10-foot-tall aluminum fence along the rear of the house,\u201d according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, Biden paused the construction of walls along the nation\u2019s southern border on his first day in office. More than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/stats\/southwest-land-border-encounters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two million<\/a> illegal immigrants were encountered at the southern border in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the deportations of illegal immigrants have dropped up to 90% since 2019 after Biden took office, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/cis.org\/Report\/Deportations-Plummet-Under-Biden-Enforcement-Policies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> from the Center for Immigration Studies.<\/p>\n<p>The report, based on information obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request, revealed the number of illegal immigrants deported from January 21 to July 9, 2021, was 90% lower than the same period in 2019, the last year prior to the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>In December, Texas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/its-official-texas-border-wall-construction-begins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launched<\/a> its own border construction program, led by Republican Governor Greg Abbott.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTexas has officially started building its own border wall,\u201d Abbott tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden allows open border policies and refuses to enforce laws passed by Congress to secure the border and enforce immigration laws,\u201d The governor added. \u201cTexas is stepping up to do the federal government\u2019s job.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Texas has officially started building its own border wall.<\/p>\n<p>Biden allows open border policies and refuses to enforce laws passed by Congress to secure the border and enforce immigration laws. <\/p>\n<p>Texas is stepping up to do the federal government\u2019s job. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/K7CbIPs75p\">https:\/\/t.co\/K7CbIPs75p<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GregAbbott_TX\/status\/1471899869719810055?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 17, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The White House quietly ended the military\u2019s involvement in border wall construction in May, canceling contracts inked during the Trump administration, leaving holes in the border wall amid the ongoing illegal immigration crisis.
