Circuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jackson was asked, \u201cDoes the Constitution protect rights that are not expressly enumerated in the Constitution? Which rights?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jackson went on to answer, \u201cThe Supreme Court has determined that the Constitution protects certain rights that are not specifically enumerated in the Constitution.\u201d She pointed to cases like <i>Griswold v. Connecticut<\/i>, and <i>Eisenstadt v. Baird, <\/i>(1972), which \u201crecognize an unenumerated right to privacy that encompasses the right to marital privacy and to use contraception.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">She also noted that \u201c<i>Obergefell v. Hodges<\/i>, [\u2026] (2015), and <i>Loving v. Virginia<\/i>, [\u2026](1967), affirm a constitutional right to marry, while other cases \u201crecognize the right to have children and to direct their education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">She went on to answer that <i>Roe v. Wade <\/i>and <i>Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey \u201c<\/i>articulate a limited right to terminate a pregnancy, particularly before viability\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">When asked about her judicial philosophy, Jackson said she does not have one, but she did point to the importance of past Supreme Court decisions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">She noted, \u201cIn every case that I have handled as a district judge, I have considered only the parties\u2019 arguments, the relevant facts, and the law as I understand it, including the text of any applicable statutes and the binding precedents of the Supreme Court and the D.C. Circuit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to another question, she noted, \u201cA circuit judge might properly encourage the Supreme Court to reconsider holdings that are confusing or otherwise problematic in application, by pointing out a problem with the interpretation or application of a precedent, in either a concurrence or a dissent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued, \u201cBut it would not be proper for a circuit court judge to depart from Supreme Court precedent when ruling in a case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jackson has also appeared to rule against pro-life groups or efforts in the past.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/watch-abortion-protesters-battle-outside-of-ketanji-brown-jacksons-confirmation-hearings\/\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Jackson\u2019s case background on abortion appears relatively limited, though she clearly sides with Biden\u2019s pro-abortion perspective.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u201cIn a related case, she ruled against the Trump administration\u2019s decision to cut grant funding under the federal Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. In\u00a0Policy and Research v. HHS, she found that the administration had not properly grounded its action in the mandates of the Administrative Procedure Act,\u201d The Washington Post\u00a0<\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/19\/legal-stances-ketanji-jackson\/\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>reported<\/i><\/span><\/a><i>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">While she was a lawyer, Jackson wrote an amicus brief in defense of a Massachusetts law that controlled actions within a certain distance of reproductive health care centers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.cnsnews.com\/attachment\/1-AMICUS%20BRIEF-MCGUIRE%20V%20REILLY-KETANJI%20BROWN%20JACKSON.pdf\"><span class=\"s1\">brief<\/span><\/a>:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>The Massachusetts Act, however, regulates conduct only within eighteen feet of a \u201creproductive health care facility.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Within that narrow zone, the Act makes it unlawful to \u201cknowingly approach\u201d within six feet of another person, without that person\u2019s consent, \u201cfor the purpose of passing a leaflet or handbill to, displaying a sign to, or engaging in oral protest, education or counseling with such other person\u2026.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">She has received support from pro-abortion groups, such as the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Alexis McGill Johnson.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Whitney Robertson, press secretary at America Rising PAC, provided the following statement to The Daily Wire regarding Jackson\u2019s nomination:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p5\"><i>Ketanji Brown Jackson is the abortion lobby\u2019s dream of a nominee to the Supreme Court. She has consistently sided with causes that earned her the endorsements of the nation\u2019s most prominent abortion groups. If the Democrats were looking for a rubber stamp for their anti-life agenda, they found one in Judge Jackson.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p5\">The topic of abortion is a contentious issue going into the summer as the Supreme Court considers a law out of Mississippi that bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. With a ruling, the high court could decide to overturn <i>Roe v.
